I've had good quality SDCards that still haven't failed. I had an ancient 1GB card that only failed after 4-5 years of constant use.

Idk man I just put music on it. Tried to put some more music and then found out later the music I put in magically vanished. This happened with my other SD that died as well. When I tried reformatting that one all the fucking data came back from the grave. It's frozen in time that data, only to be read, same as this one.

Had the same shit going for 1 of my sdcard. Sandisk too. Turned RO. Cant even delete my gf nudes from there to RMA. Feels bad.

Can't be sure since I'm no expert on this but I think products just fail sometimes, the usually Sd cards can be written to around 100,000 times and may last a minimum of 5 years under fair condition, but keeping them under stress like heat for example may reduce the lifetime, so I guess a phone that gets really hot all the time could make your SD last a few years less.

This is only true for old 1-32GB micro sd cards and chink ones.

Moderns ones have 64-256GB of storage and use standard binned MLC NAND (good for ~3,000 P/E cycles). They also have controllers that spread out wear to eliminate hotspots.

64GB micro SD card: ~192,000 GB of write endurance

256GB micro SD card: ~768,000 GB of write endurance

Moral of the story: stop buying chinkshit or micro SD cards with less than 64GB of capacity.

All this being said, the first thing you should look on a phone is a minimum of 64GB of internal storage. You don't want your phone's NAND dying before the one on your 128GB micro SD card.
