i5-3570k vs FX 8350?
A friend who owes me money is offering his comp as payment. I think I'll take it, but my question is if I should replace my current FX 8350 with the i5 he's giving me, or keep the FX 8350 and sell the i5?

Only thing I can suggest
FX8350 - more threads for multitasking
i5 - better for gaming because less cores more power in the 4

3570k for sure
>>61340950
The gimped threadless 3570k beats the faildozer.
Unless- You want ECC support, then the FX has a MC that can handle ECC with a kernel module.

If you're gaming go with the i5
Sell both, and put that money towards an R5 1600 system.

3570K is better for sure
But you should sell it and get a Ryzen. Or ask him to sell it and buy a Ryzen.

>more threads foe multitasking
To what extent is the difference? Like, would chrome + text editor + spotify make a difference? I generally don't multitask with resource intensive programs like video editors and such.

How much is a Ryzen + mobo combo? Also, all my RAM is DDR3, so Id have to factor in that cost.

B350 mobo (~80) + 16 GB Ram (~80) + Ryzen 1600 (~200(180s with coupons))
80+80+200=360
8350 (~$100) + 3570K (~$130) + 8GB ram?(~$40) + mobo(~$50) = $320
360 - 320 = 40
Out of pocket spending is probably ~40

For a quad core, no not light programs except maybe maybe maybe chrome. I'm talking like gaming and livestreaming or maybe livestreaming editing. For your purposes I reccomend intel.

I actually have 4 sticks of 4GB DDR3 and 2 of 8GB DDR3 from the comp he's giving, so I could get a little more from that. However, would I really be able to get $100 and $130 from the 8350 and 3570? That seems pretty generous.

>selling computer parts
There is literally no reason to do this, otherwise you'll come back here and make a
>Hey /v/ my CPU just died recommend me new cheap ones to buy plzz :))
It's always good to have spare parts in case something happens, so don't sell it

Depends on your local market.

Doesn't ryzen benefits greatly from faster ram? He souldn't cheap out on the ram.
