I know there are a lot of different ways to make coffee and not many people agree on much of anything about coffee, but for me, I finally found it. This is it. The ThinkPad of coffee makers:

Summer isnt over yet, things are always worst in late july early august
>>61335538
That's not the Moccamaster.
>>61335538
>American percolator mud water
>The coffee pod jew
Just get a 15 bar manual espresso machine and a good grinder
If you're a poorfag then an Aeropress is almost acceptable.
>>61335582
this, too bad they're worthless to pour out of, impossible to not spill. the drip stop is also shit
>>61335606
it's neither a pod brewer nor a percolator go back to starbucks with your espresso snobbery
>>61335582
>$400 vs $30
>comes in even more colors than the iPhone 5C
you posted the MacBook of coffee makers
>>61335538
2€ were credited on your google opinion reward account, thanks
>>61335538
i use soemthing like this, its okay
>4 cup
Lol do you even drink coffee? I personally drink 8 cups a day
>>61335615
I've had mine for 5 years with none of these issues. It does take 3.6 seconds to figure out how to twist the carafe's cap to pour correctly so there's that.
>>61335642
You shut your mouth when you're talking to me.
>>61335606
Most americans can't handle real coffee, they say I'm difficult but honestly I don't think so. I don't need a grinder or special beans but an expresso machine is obligatory. Mine's a weak cheapo version from goodwill for $10 and it does the job
Any recommendations for single cup drip machines (not espresso)? I live alone and only have a mug of coffee once every morning.
Or should I just get a French press or a pourover or something
>>61336563
yea either french or this
>>61336456
>>61336563
Just start with an aeropress
>>61336563
I got one of these for the office and it's been decent so far.
>>61335538
Crappy American piss coffee.
Boil some water and use a french press.
>>61336506
>expresso

Hario + French Press master race
>Coffee
>Nonfree javabeans
No thanks.
Question: do you think capsule espresso machines are good?
>>61336736
of course not
>>61336460
Wow, eight cups? I bet you have a huge dick and make tons of money. We should hang out when you're done fucking my mom! Haha!
>he can't into pour over
>>61336710
nice.
French press is the Gentoo of coffee makers.
Moka pot is fine but I tend to forget they are boiling and melt the seals and Bakelite handle
>>61336506
>expresso
>doesn't even grind his own beans
>>61337493
calm down jellykid one day you can grow big and strong and will be able to drink 8 cups like me
>>61336460
It's obviously a 12 cup machine with a 1-4 cup brewing option for making that many at a time which is still what you should be doing for the best taste when making coffee just for yourself even if you're going to have more later, or unless you're going to just chug 12 cups right out of the carafe like an absolute madman.
>>61338042
>he doesn't pick his own coffee berries from rat turds
>he doesn't dry them out in the sun after washing them
>he doesn't roast his own beans
>he doesn't grind his own beans
why even live senpai
>>61338125
the difference is grinding your own beans takes very little extra effort yet makes a ridiculously huge amount of difference in how good the end result tastes, and gives the beans a far longer shelf life.
pre-ground coffee is instant coffee tier bad compared to grinding your own right before brewing.
>>61338181
unless you didnt notice. it was a joke implying the point that you're being snobish about this. dont be snobish about grinding your own beans. some simply don't want to because of reasons. as long as they enjoy their coffee jesus titty fucking christ god forbid they use fucking instant coffee powder.
let people enjoy what they enjoy and dont be a dick about it.
>>61338258
it's not being snobbish to say properly cooking a steak is better than throwing it in the microwave for 5 minutes
>2017
>Not using a wifi coffee maker
Shiggery diggery doo
>>61338125
the difference is that the fineness/coarseness of the grind is one of the parameters that needs constant adjustment to get a decent espresso, with pre-ground stuff it's almost impossible and basically pure coincidence to not get a watery or bitter shot.
>>61338298
it aint the same thing anon and you know it. people go to charbucks order milkshakes and half the country calls it coffee.
if people enjoy their coffee without it being 2/3 cream im fine with it.
>>61338335
in the context of brewing your own coffee it is the same, you can easily grind your own beans in 30 seconds with a $5 grinder at the press of a button these days, there is no reason for using shitty inferior grinds that are already dried out the day you buy them when you can get much a much better coffee. If people really don't care at all about the quality then why are you even drinking coffee? just pop some no-doz.
>Hand cranked ceramic burr-mill grinder
>Stainless steel pour-over filter
Get on my level you lazy cunts.
>>61338411
>you can easily grind your own beans in 30 seconds with a $5 grinder at the press of a button these days, there is no reason for using shitty inferior grinds
the problem with snobbery is exactly that
>"that $5 grinder isn't good enough unless you spend at least $1000 on a coffee grinder why even live maymay"
if anon wants to get in it at that level, let him, if he isn't he doesnt have to in order to enjoy it.
>>61338569
Yeah, well if it's snobbery to say a cold glass of water is more refreshing than a glass of fresh dog piss than I guess I'm a snob.
>>61338493
Forgot to mention you can pick up the grinder for $10 on Amazon and the filter for $15. That's fairly inexpensive for the quality of brew it provides. You just have to be willing to spare 5-10 minutes of your morning shitposting time to make your coffee.
>>61338667
don't even talk with me until ive had my coffee
>>61335538
just use a fucking pourover cone
>>61339097
The actual "thinkpad" of coffee machines. Everything else is overcomplicated and a waste of time/space/money
>>61340572
french press is actually more consistent than a pourover, because the latter requires technique on pouring. For the former you just grind an amount of beans, heat water to ~90F, let extract for a set amount of minutes, then press.
There's a certain technique when it comes to pourovers to make sure you get the best extraction.
>>61340688
You need to get something like the Kalita Wave that has a controlled release mechanism which allows brewing consistency.
>>61340812
The problem with pour over is that if you pour too fast or too slow you could over/under extract depending on the grind (fine-medium to medium course if you're a madman.) There's a lot of variables. For pour overs you'll be worrying about grind consistency, water temperature, blooming time, pour speed, pour timing, and pour angle. For french press you'll only have to worry about the grind consistency, and water temperature. If you're not an autist as long as your water is not boiling when you pour it you're good, and as long as your grind is between course and medium-course you'll get a decent cup of coffee.
>>61340916
You make pour-overs sound more complicated than they really are. I get a consistent cup every time with very little effort.
Fuck French press; I don't want a mouth full of coffee flavored potting soil.
what is the juicero of coffee machines?
