Because verbose error messages are confusing for the majority of people, if you are the sort of person who actually needs the information it is readily available for you in sys logs, including full memory dumps. The dumbing down of error messages is such a non-issue that I cannot believe that people seriously get their panties in such a bunch over it. I can only imagine that you are too stupid to access system logs, in which case you are the target audience for the retard-friendly error messages.
