What function is lost with kånken over the generic backpack I posted? Only real differences one large compartment rather than three smaller compartments and I guess you lose the netted bottleholder that you never use.

I mean, really, kånken is popular because it is practical as well as nice looking. It's like a decent knife rather than a cheap multitool

Guy, not gay, got a gray one. It works, water resistant, can take a beating, was moderately affordable and carries my stuff. I think I may get a weird look or two, but I don't give a fuck. It survives the rainy bike-ride to and from work, which is why I bought it.

Fjällreven are really nice. My dad has two of them from the 70's and they're in great condition.
Don't know why they have some sort of hipster status wherever you guys are, or some sort of fashion statement. They're just well made durable bags, something you might even take with you going camping for a day or two.
