The only thing autistic in your post is using a screensaver in current year.
Dumb frog poster.

That must be an xfce power saver thing. I've been using lubuntu for a year and a half. It uses openbox and running an openbox session with tint2 is pretty easy. I turn off the screensaver and power options since they are still active even when running an openbox session. It's pretty good. Kind of like crunchbang might have been but I wouldn't know since I started linux desktop after crunchbang dried up.
Lubuntu's not too hard to get around on. Sound's like it might be the only autistic thing in your life.

linux's goal is to allow you to go down to the scripting level to look at why things don't work and let you fix it yourself and with this comes greater customizability. Its goal isnt to work out of the box otherwise it would just be another windows. What's the point of having 2 windowses?
