I feel memed /g/.
I know Java 8, Spring, Spring Boot, H2, Postgresql, MySQL, git, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and willing to learn more (currently learning angularjs) and I can't even find an entry level job for junior java developer. I have sent countless applications and I got bo answer because those fucks require 2 year experience on junior job.
What did I do wrong? What should I learn next to be more attractive in job market?

Found your problem.

Lol, I landed junior java job first year in college and I didn't lnow what Spring is when they asked me during interview. I'm in eastern europe developing for western companies as a cheap labour force, but experience are what matters most here.

Well mate, have you every considered being utter shit?
Contribute to open sores project. Make your github account shiny.
>>61307623
either your CV is shit, you didn't provide a portfolio of contributions to/your own software projects, or your projects and contributions are shit

I'm pretty much in the same situation. I completed a 10 month long Java course in April. I currently work as a security sysadmin however, because that's why I did for the last 3 years. I'm hoping to beome a professional developer one day, right now focusing on self-learning of Android, Nodejs, reactjs and Python, and developing self project.
I hope to ifnd freelance work soon

10 repositories in many programming languages

If he >>61307769 can do it with no knowledge on any major framework why can't I? I have low self esteem but I know that compared to other people I know quite much.

Do you think getting sysadmin job is good for further improvement?

Depends if you like it or not. I don't really like it and much rather develop cool apps and programs. But it isn't really a choice for me as it is currently the only thing I have experience in(Trained in the military-because mandatory conscription in my country) Besides the pay is very nice.

neets pls keep away from this thread

>10 repositories in many programming languages
that means nothing. what really matters are the projects.
did you contribute to any projects packaged by major distributions in their official repositories ?
>>61308242
No, but on my interview I was always questioned about at least one of my projects. I thought contributing to other repos is a meme and better thing to do is build your own ones from ground up.

>I thought contributing to other repos is a meme and better thing to do is build your own ones from ground up.
contributing to other repos shows that you can follow coding guidelines, work with groups, etc
if you _maintain_ a project that's packaged in some major distributions official repository ofcourse it's worth more than just a contribution to a project.

let's see your github and cv. I can offer help then.

Sounds like you should do an internship. Lousy payment for a few months, but it will definitely pay off in the long run.
Just keep on developing, show that you are a gentle, reliable and interesting person and you will have your job in no time.
>>61307623
You should build up a portfolio. Doesn't even matter if they are just personal projects or whatnot, so long as they prove your competence in programming.
Unfortunately, there's nothing much to be done about companies requesting dumb shit like 5+ years on a junior function. If anything, I've seen companies requesting inane bullshit by the boatloads:
>x years experience in framework where the framework isn't even x years old
>wanting fresh graduates but with experience in things that are not taught in college/university
>backend webdevelopment job requiring massive frontend knowledge and vice versa

These companies hired foreigners for these positions anon. They have to keep looking for a domestic replacement for the position so they just write insane requirements so nobody will apply.
