What, if anything is wrong with the current Lenovo E series? I want to get the one with the 950m in it. I have the e550 version from a few years ago and it was fine.
Is there any reason to stay away from the current models? It would be a laptop to use at work. The current one is a bit old. I want the 950m for some light gaming during downtime

last time I went to McD, my order was taken by a person whose gender I could not tell. It was one of the most WTF moments I've had in a while. It looked effeminate but also had no tits and hands/fingers looked feminine too. But face had some manly features. No adams apple either. Voice was kinda manly but I didn't talk to it for long to be sure.

future will be interesting as more and more of these creatures are born. I blame it on plastics leaking estrogen-like chemicals into water.

I asked this a couple of threads ago but received little response. I bought a t420 on amazon and when I try to swap out the hard drive and boot, it gives me a lack screen with an icon of a cylinder and a padlock on it. I'm assuming it's a hard drive lock, but I have all the passwords disabled in the bios. Mind you I can't even access the bios with the lcoked drive. Would pulling the cmos work? Thanks.

X230's somewhat more locked down (Coreboot install is not a simple software flash from Windows) but at the same time has several great features that mean it'll drop off in usefulness much more slowly than an X220 (all versions have 2 USB 3.0 ports, 3rd Gen Core i's have a smaller process node (22nm) and are therefore a bit more power efficient and the standard 10-20% faster than the 2nd Gen equivalent, and they also get the HD4000 which is a huge boost not just in graphics power, but also API support (Supports DX11, OpenGL 4.0 which is the minimum level for many new graphical applications such as Marmoset Toolbag, as well as some games (MGSV for example.))

Anybody have a thinkpad T60? One of my co-workers has a couple in his garage he said he's willing to give me for like forty bucks and I'm wondering if it's worth it. No hard drives, batteries are probably fucked, but I'd be getting five of various qualities. If all else fails I could probably just salvage the four to fix one up completely. Not too concerned with things like processing power, ram I'd just upgrade myself, but the battery is kinda what worries me.

Going to Zhonghai electronic market in a few weeks and need a new laptop. Recommend me a good Chinkpad under 400$, used or new. It has to have good battery life and can't overheat and don't try to trick me cuz I know you'll be lying :)

Why are all X220 battery slices so fucking expensive? I contacted official support and the battery costs about 50$ more than the whole X220 I bought!

Anyone got a cheap source for batteries/slices/docks?

Also, is there anything I can use to charge my batteries without the laptop?

So guys I am thinking about getting a Thinkpad that I will run something like Arch on. It doesnt have to be anything special I would just like a 15" screen it should have an SSD and not be THAT old and cheap. Any ideas ? Wanted to buy "new" one but man, those prices.

Thinking of just getting x201 and throwing in SSD, 8gb ram and calling it a day.

Any problems with x201 running win10? Had all kind of problems with Panasonic drivers. I don't need any of exotic Panny stuff like GPS and WWAN, just regular wlan&bluetooth.

Can I mod a 120hz display in place of the 1366x768?
>>
>>61305076
This is because the lithium needs to inform the smarts in the battery what it's discharged state is so your OS doesn't see 4 hours remaining up until the point that you have only two minutes left.

After the first run, the less and shallower you can cycle the battery, the better.
>>
>>61305178
If I have already been using the battery for a while and hardware monitor reports it as having 10% decay is it worth trying that to make sure it is reporting correctly?
>>
>>61305198
Probably not.
You've cycled it plenty so it can inference what should be.

That 10% decay is probably permanent. Just prevent your cell from deep cycling to prolong it's life. 10% isn't so bad but 20% is worse.
>>
>>61305218
Considering I only received this battery a week ago 10% is bullshit. I am going to RMA this.

Also it was supposed to be 5200mAh but HWmonitor reports 4400mAh design capacity.
