What is the best free antivirus?

This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

I usually use AMD but I hear that's just barebones.

Naming a product 'common sense' seems a little patronizing doesn't it? Does it shove full version purchase pop-ups in your face?

Lol.

It's a meme phrase for not needing any antivirus if you don't go launching any porn.mp4.exe files and remember to check UAC signatures.
>>
>>61286801
Except that's a very bad practice when OS-level exploits can infect you even if your computer is just turned on and connected to the internet, such as in the case of the wannacry ransomware.
>>
so i know people use TOR alot especially to to illegal stuff

and antivirus are all well and good
but ultimately this does nothing to stop the scriptee
they just learn to find other exploits that anti virus software isn't keen on yet

Do you guys know of an app for the phone or program for computer that lets me know what is trying to access what and what it is changing?

then further more the program must also find the location of said device trying to break into my device.

I don't want to protect my computer from viruses anymore

I want to hunt down and punch the shit out of scrpitkiddies that think they can get one over on me.

Of course antivirus programs won't stop all viruses. They're mostly supposed to stem the tide.
Just having Adblock and a good antivirus will stop you getting most shit

A virus
>>
>>61286827
That can easily happen regardless of having antivirus. Common sense includes running a decent firewall and keeping your home network secure.
>>
>>61286827
Which only proves that best protection is an updated system because Microsoft did release an update to patch it up but nobody gave a shit. Lots of systems were infected even if they had AV. There's no point of having AV anymore, this isn't XP era. There's no point in having babysitting shitware prevent you from doing stuff on your PC, corrupting it and wasting system resources. The ONLY good anti-malware is that which manually scans the PC from an external drive/CD and does not require installing.
All you need is either patching your hosts file or using uBlock Origin to prevent 99.99% malware from infecting you.
In all cases if there's a virus out there which can bypass an up to date OS with firewall enabled then it can also bypass AV software.

>>61286827
Commonsense releases for at least the last ten years have automatically installed another OS that isn't vulnerable to wannacry. It's a truly awesome program. Running a computer without it is the only bad practice.

told you I don't want to just protect my computer from scriptkiddies

I want vengence
I want retribution
I want to teach them that they shouldn't even think about fucking with my shit.

I want to be the consequence to their actions
>>
>>61286693
This is my bare minimum, i seriously hope you guys don't leave yourselves or your clients wide open:

Internet service equipment locked in a secure colocation with vetted armed guard, and blast proof bunker
Whitelisting dedicated host running a secure firewalld on perimeter
Snort IDS performing DPS on all traffic on the network
SELinux running and configured on all hosts, no exceptions (what, you didn't think we would be running anything other than linux in a secure env?)
All hosts running an hourly updated clamAV as a catch all for low hanging fruit (but let's be honest, anything that gets this far through the network is not low-hanging fruit -- it would have to be brought in on storage media, hence why this service is running)
DEP running on all hosts to protect against heap spraying
Weekly tape backups flown off site via stealth helicopter to be secured off site in another secure blast proof environment which is also under armed protection

Keep clicking freegayfurporn.avi.exe then.
>>

same
>>
>>61286990
i have the same config except my clamav hosts are updated every 10 minutes (we have a dedicated ISP line just for getting the updates) and have a team of security experts writing custom definitions for our IDS. of course these definitions cannot be released to the community, because that would blow our opsec.

Common Sense

I'll play Devil's advocate for OP and ask, what is common sense in 2017?
>>
>>61287535
Common Sense can't be taught. Either you have it or you don't.
>>
>>61287535
2017 is just 2016 version with no new features which is also just copy of Common Sense 2015, all the way back to 2008 version which replaced "You Shouldn't Click on Adds" with "You Really Shouldn't Click on Adds Especially If They Pass Add Block".

No, 2012 changed "Install Gentoo" to "Install Ubuntu" but it got reverted in 2013.
