The problem with Linux is that it is made by programmers for programmers.
They don't care about usability since they're used to doing everything through a command line anyway.
There is also a sense of elitism about being able to use an OS that most people can't work with.
No one tries to make it easier for normies to use, and therefore it will remain at a 1% marketshare.
And so now we have 20 different text editors but not a single piece of software that can measure up to Microsoft Office, or Adobe CS, or any kind of professional 3D modeling software.

Linux community provides working solutions for problems and plenty of support/ backstory/ alternate solutions for free. Windows support will only ever tell you that you are a noob and you need to update your drivers. If you update your drivers and it still doesn't work they will call you a noob and tell you to do a full reinstall. A full reinstall of Win 10 on a topgrade laptop only takes about four hours so its not much of an inconvenience.
