I'm just curious to know.
I know web crap and Java are very well paid, but I'm wondering if there are other, perhaps more specific areas of CS that are just as lucrative.

>networking
It's currently in active development and big companies and ISPs are gonna need more and more network engineers to keep the infrastructure up with progressively higher demand for data streaming, cloud computing, IoT and so on. You can grab some big bucks there.
>security
I dont even need to explain this. As systems grow bigger and bigger, companies with sensitive data (CIA, NSA, huge banks etc.) are getting more and more vulnerable to attacks.
Also, since the latest WannaCry craze, I believe public services are finally gonna start giving a shit about security. Its a gold mine for us desu
>embedded development
Will never die out desu. In my experience, not as profitable as the above fields but it's not a bad pay and its a stable job.

Programmers are never well paid, especially straight out of the college.
99/100 end up working as underpaid consultant for some bank making shit in Java.
