It's free as in freedom; therefore its name is whatever anyone wants it to be. If you took debian sources and compiled the debian kernel like you do gentoo's, installed portage, and uninstalled dpkg/apt. Is it still debian or is it gentoo now? Or is it some wierd hybrid that needs a name? The answer is, it doesn't matter, it's your's once you've downloaded it. So, name it what you want.
