How far away are we from semi-intelligent sexbots? Who, besides sex, can hold a decent conversation, and maybe even do some cooking, cleaning around the house?

>semi-intelligent
What does that mean?
>sex robot
What does that entail?
Question is too open ended to resolve it.
We are close.

70 - 100 years.

Just stick an Alexa inside a RealDoll and strap a Rooma to the feet.

Your mom.

That it doesn't necessarily has to have true consciousness. But it should be intelligent/well programmed enough, to make people forget they're talking to a robot in the first place.
>What does that entail?
A machine designed to substitute human companionship. To put it crudely: it has several holes you can take advantage of.
We still haven't got to semi intelligent human females

We did, but she was one of a kind :(
>>61269884
There is no such thing as "true consciousness".
If it passes the Turing test( if it fools humans into believing its conscious), then there is literally no way to prove its not conscious. After that, its the same zombie argument.
>a machine designed to substitute human
Humans do plenty of things. A robot that can completely emulate human functions are far away from now. Not just mechanically, but also on software level.
If you're talking about one minor human function, that is the simulation of vagina, then thats probably possible even right now, but due to societal pressures or even just costs, its not made so.

he said besides sex

Reminder that she was part of a pair with her husband. While being snubbed by the science community for being female did happen, the pendulum has swung far enough to forget her husband.

This.
She's a glorified tag-along
Even if we do reach that level of technology in the next decades, you won't be able to afford one.
Sorry, you will die a virgin

Her daughter was also a scientist and finished the work her parents had started. She also invented transmutation, and was also awarded a Nobel prize.
In fact most of the Curie descendants were scientists and had contributed to the knowledge of humanity greatly.
