Why is Fedora the best distro?
>>61254773
GNOME. Thats why
>>61254773
Because it just works?
>RPMFusion
>>61254984
look at its face. jesus
>>61254773
>Bunch of kernel developers use it, including Linus himself, and it always gets good kernels.
>Most of GNOME developers use it, and you always get the newest GNOME versions.
>Short release span, so you get new software fast
>Has IceCat in the repos, something not even Debian does.
>Free software focused.
>Looks damn beautiful.
The only thing I don't really enjoy is dnf, seems a bit weird and slow to me
I'll probably go back to Fedora once 26 is released.

um no its not

Developed by a company and community focused on free software and innovation. Has Red Hat's legacy behind it. Also has the best experience out of the box if you're using the cinnamon version. That's why OP, unlike the rest of these distros that will die within 3 years
>>61254773
Because professionals use it. Name one fucking person of importance that uses Arch or Solus
Really nice, professional, works well or of the box. If I weren't an autist, I'd go back. Systemd worries me though.
>>61254888
There is a KDE version of Fedora

Jajjaajajajajjaa Nice joke
>>61257661
I get this reference
Fedora user here. The amount of packages available to you through the official repo, copr, and rpmfusion is still noticeably less than on Debian and all of its official repos. There is also a much higher chance of a developer having prepackaged debs available then prepackaged rpms. Stability wise it lags behind Debian.
>>61257661
my sides
>>61257857
In your experience are there more badly maintained / abandoned repos in debian or fedora
Arch was a graveyard of them
Hi Opie
How do i expand an LVM partition in Fedora?

would you rather suck fresh cum and presumably from red hat or be forced to swallow rotten old cum from a bunch of hobbyist developers that is only stable because they didn't even bother to put years-old security patches into testing?
>>61257976
Not OP but I'll help you. Like you expand an LVM partition anywhere else. Use the lvextend command. For example, to expand it fill all remaining space in the volume group runlvextend -l +100%FREE /dev/volumegroup/logicalvolume
>>61261021
>using nonfree codecs
What were you expecting?

You misspelled OpenSUSE.

I consider this a good thing honestly. Realistic look of what a competent female developer looks like. Not some unrealistically hot chick for attention or anything.
>>61267742
This. She's pretty hot too - I'm a sapiosexual
>>61254984
>The plethora of tools...

My use of Ubuntu is now on a patriotic level after shuddering from this photo and caption.
>>61254773
what pissed me off was the package management
these software-properties/packagekit processes launching themselves and sitting on a few hundred mb of ram, dnf fetching fuckhueg bdiffs that would just fail, the crypto and codecs are stripped from everything in the main repo so basic things like a functional browser require 5 3rd party repos
>>61266391
Trump, grab them by the pussy
>>61268406
Men talk in private just like that. Nothing to see here.
>>61264712
well....patented.

As soon as they get official support for MPV and firejail it will be perfect.
>>61268430
Would you talk to me in private like that?
Can some nice boy please have a conversation with me.
lvm is not a file system

No wonder it's such an unoptimised, slow, bloated piece of shit
Downloading fedora because of this thread.
>>61273104
yep, same here.
Then, after two days I will understand that Ubuntu is more polished and has more packages and will go back to it.

Can someone give me an example of where this is an issue?
I can see someone needing to use an older piece of hardware that's government verified to work with a certain server that runs Fedora 19 or 20 or whatever, and they aren't allowed to upgrade without voiding their contract or their hardware can't handle a completely new system. So then you would need to update the kernel to get new necessary features, but you can't do that or you'd have to build your own kernel and deal with the litany of bullshit that causes.
>>61273700
>Ubuntu is more polished and has more packages
I know that feel. Ubuntu is really a lot better.
>>61274961
>give me an example of where this is an issue?
o_O
government shouldn't use "cutting edge" community project
contracts between a sys admin and an employer concern only those two parties
also
>click release notes
>no rpm -qa
afaik see fedora is crap
cutting edge my ass
Anyone follow Modularity project in fedora?
