Why single channel? It should be dual channel. I think you placed the RAM in the wrong configuration.

Do it now. Should be 2 & 4 or 1 &3 placement on RAM slots. Check your motherboard manual.

I like my new screen, I could still return it and fall for the 144 Hz meme though.
Not sure if it's worth it, I'd be stepping down in size from 32'' to 27'' and I also prefer VA for the better contrast.
Don't play many shooters either.

Nice.

My mobo runs hot as shit, I dunno why. Like my whole case is too hot to touch. Sometimes it smells like something is burning inside. I try not to think about it. I probably shouldn't leave it running 24/7 like that, but oh well. Not my energy bill.

Skyrim I have no problems with, usually in the high 90s while maxed out. With an ENB enabled it drops to ~55-60. Haven't tried GTA V or KSB, but so far the Xeon hasn't had an issue with CPU-intense games. I normally get 50-100 FPS in WoW, for instance, depending on location, etc.
>>
>>61252106
Nice.
I'm hitting a ridiculously consistent 60-65 in Skyrim, but I have graphics mods out the ass. I'll probably do the same over the weekend with Fallout 4.

Waiting on my x5660, this cpu is giving me shit. Its actually downclocked a bit now, got all kinds of strange behaviors and instabilities. Hoping for 4.5ghz without too much hassle and 2000mhz+ ram (tho that will be a fight for the ages on x58)

Got a gtx1080 from a friend yesterday, gonna switch out the 1060 one of these days.

>>61248807
Love your tuned to the edge system as always.

Couldn't some of the 480 cards unlock 8gb ram aswell? How much performance increase have you gotten for the gpu tuning?

Wish I could get even near the potential out of the 1060, but the jews cucked us. Can overclock to 2150 or 2250mhz just fine on these cards, like furmark stable. A single step over that is insta crash.
Can't risk them stealing any potential 1070 sales, so no overclock and no sli.

Then maybe the newer Pro82's would be better. HM5's on Pro80's would change the sound too much from stock imo for just squishy pillows.
>>
>>61255860
>Love your tuned to the edge system as always.
thanks m8

>Couldn't some of the 480 cards unlock 8gb ram aswell?
Some early reference cards can be unlocked, since they couldn't meed demand for 4GB cards and just locked down 8GB ones. My card is a non-reference Sapphire with 8x512MB chips rated at 7Gbps, so there's nothing to unlock.
Tbh, I wish I went with 8GB, not because of more memory, but because it's clocked higher. Polaris is riddicuosly limited with memory bandwidth.

>How much performance increase have you gotten for the gpu tuning?
Around 15% compared to reference RX 480, maybe a bit more in some cases. Compared to stock clocks for my card (1306MHz) about 10-12%.

>>61255513 see >>61255896
Pro80's were in my price range and that's what I went for. I don't regret it.

>>61255919
>Then maybe the newer Pro82's would be better.
Probably, but I don't think it's worth upgrading.

>HM5's on Pro80's would change the sound too much from stock imo for just squishy pillows.
They sound just about the same but with a little bit less bass. Maybe 2-3dB quieter at the low end. I could live with that.

You got a h61 chipset, so you can't overclock.

What is limiting you now?

If its cpu, get a i7 2600/2700/3770 if you can find one cheap.

If you're running out of ram often, get a cheap 16gb kit (2x8gb)

If you want higher detail etc when gaming, get a better gpu.

There's no excuse for this. You must find an alternative.

Ask yourself what kind of people would give users the option to install adware. No, it doesn't end when you say "No". They will offer more, they will sneak malicious stuff in Speccy, because that's just what these kinds of people do.

It's like seeing someone holding a knife and someone's decapitated head and not assuming they wouldn't do worse than that. This is what putting adware in your software does. I'm not sure what the purpose of this thread is unless someone from Piriform is making this on a daily basis. After all it's not really that interesting to look at someone else's list of system specifications.

Enjoy your long as hell POST times, especially if you're using post-Broadwell UEFI.
>Meanwhile, P9X79 WS with 3930K POST time is only 20% of that of Asus X99-A, X99-M WS or X99 Deluxe

Wut should I upgrade?

I just want to play DOOM on high.
>>
>>61263139
Yes, it is not a problem with a decent operating system. Just noting that X99 mobo's have extremely long POST times, even those with minimal extra chips. The DDR4 'training' and Broadwell-detection add to this.
>>
>>61263223
What are those "extremely" long post times?

>Ask yourself what kind of people would give users the option to install adware. No, it doesn't end when you say "No". They will offer more, they will sneak malicious stuff in Speccy, because that's just what these kinds of people do.

Uh, well that doesn't invalidate a damn thing I said. I could download their "It's safe trust me guys" build that they offer, but on the other end they're still supporting adware. It's hard to make excuses for it.
