INSTALL CALCULATE LINUX
>Gentoo-based
>binary packages
>100% compatible with Gentoo repo so you can always compile your kernel instead of downloading binary
literally Gentoo - autism, why don't you use it, then?
>>61246136
Cuz I have Gentoo
>>61246156
Do you have autism?
>>61246136
>>>
Those are the reasons you should install Sabayon.

>something something Linux
>dumb penguin as logo
cancer
>>61246237
Sounds like meme, I tried it and it was worse even than Ubuntu.
>no wireless working ootb
>outdated software
>>61246286
Yeah, because women menstruation blood flushed in the toilet looks so much better.
>>61246286
they just don't give a fuck about logo
>>61246302
>outdated software
You have obviously never tried sabayon.
>>61246385
no one on /g/ uses Sabayon
>>61246404
I used it for a while. KDE5. The weekly repo packages were quite bleeding edge.
>>61246385
it's outdated
mpv
>arch - 0.25
>gentoo - 0.25
>sabayon - 0.22r1
probably even debian sid have newer software
>>61246510
It's based on gentoo testing branch. After a week the packages go to weekly. There's also monthly, and testing if you want to live dangerously.
What I didn't like was updating my entire system every time I wanted to install another app.
>>61246587
what? you mean refreshing local database or it downloads/reinstalls packages every time you want install new package?
>>61246136
>binary packages
>100% compatible with Gentoo
Nice
>>61246617
I didn't install the kde metapackage, I installed the sabayon-kde.iso. There's a minimal fluxbox and other de's too. Like 4 or 5.
>>61246680
It was fast, though. Felt really snappy for KDE.
>>61246645
Gentoo doesn't have binary repo, Calculate Linux has. On Calculate you can also use Gentoo ebuilds from their repo so it can be source based.
Sabayon has it's own package manager. You can use portage but can run into problems doing it. See sabayon wiki.

Sabayon is a heaping pile of shit and the laughing stock of pretty much every exherbo/gentoo dev.
It's pretty much the pc-bsd of the gentoo world: the binary package manager (pbi/whatever rigo uses) isn't compatible with portage/ports. e.g. it's a big fucking mess.
calculate doesn't make much sense on the personal desktop, because gentoo gets the job done (optimization) much better, but that doesn't mean I resent calculate.
Where calculate makes sense is in the enterprise. Pre-made profiles and binary packages are perfect for mass deployment.
