Wire is safe, is just sometimes buggy because people don't report bugs. It uses a reimplementation of the axolotl protocol in rust, also moxie, the (((programmer))) behind signal tried to demand wire, because of this, despite axolotl being a protocol. It has good calls and memes for common people and integrates with services like Spotify, Soundcloud or Giphy and you can actually compile the clients without said features if you don't want them. Doesn't need a phone to create an account and is Swiss based.
