I did that recently on a very old laptop. Like very old with a shit ass cpu. It took forever... Never again.
At least the drivers were good. I never found the best drivers for W7 on my own and Windows Update did good.

The problem is that the installation system seems to be pretty bad. It's very slow and hardly gives any feedback, also in my own experience is prone to fail and you need to restart multiple times. I think they're fair points for criticism.
