This is based on how many CPU benchmarks are being done by one app.
Intel shills will use this argument to discredit it, while ignoring the fact that it accurately paints all the past marked shares extremely accurately.

If AMD reaches 50/50 with Intel they'll have so much money they won't know what to do with it, Nvidia's revenue and profits will look like jokes in comparisons.
Also reminder that Intel posts over 7 times higher net profit per quarter than Nvidia, and only has 50% market value
>>61178936
AMD Is a very neat and pro-consumer company. They'll use the money to develop new technologies and have even better cards for even an even cheaper price.
>>61178964
lmao
>>61178935
They'll cross over in 3rd Q 2018 and AMD will hit 65% marketshare in 2nd Q 2019
t. futureguy from the future :^)
This is the state in Europe at the moment.
if AMD and Intel are selling 50/50, how long would it take for AMD to reach 50%?

Irrelevant, they'll impose fines onto AMD the second they reach 51% because the EU doesnt understand free market capitalism.
There's a reason it takes all 20+ countries of the EU to match the GDP of the US.

Fun fact! Intel funds Feminist Frequency!
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/09/10/intel-cuts-300m-in-jobs-research-education-and-talent-to-fund-feminist-frequency/
So Intel is flopping around right now, sure, the 7700k and their Pentium is the only thing worth buying. 7700k only for high refresh machines. Epyc is on their ass in the business side of the market.
However 10nm is coming, and it's going to be insane if you ask me. It will be the most advanced silicon process on the planet.
But if we look at AMD they have their AM4 socket that they have committed to(big deal), mobile parts coming, etc. Gloflo is about to get their new process going next year which will bring Zen up to 5ghz instead of 4.
In addition AMD claimed that the next iteration of Zen will have 10% IPC improvement before they even launched Zen. I believe this is because there is low hanging fruit in the arch that they just didn't have time to finish optimizing.
Take a 10% IPC increase, add a 25% frequency increase, keeping in mind Zen/IF's ridiculous scaling and cheap cost to make, and you have a chip that will immediately invalidate every other desktop chip on the market.
How will this compare to Intel's 10nm? Will Intel be held back by their bingbus design vs the CCX's of Zen?
The hardware news is going to be so damn interesting over the next few years. We've had a decade of boring ass shit but FINALLY they're doing THINGS!

Yeah, if they dropped psp or open sourced it, AMD would gain even more traction still, even if they cards werent quite as good otherwise
>>61180616
>or open sourced it
they're still figuring out how to open source it without exposing their botnet
>>61180616
If AMD dropped PSP they would also find it harder to do business in a lot of countries. Governments really love backdoors anon.
I love amd

I don't believe that Zen2 will hit 5GHz(Image is for Zen3? 7nm will I assume), I'm hoping for 4.5 GHz or so considering what we see with thermals/voltage currently if you try to push 4.1GHz, I do believe the 10% increase though to IPC which should be competitive to coffeelake, especially moreso with the inevitable price/perf standpoint.
AMD's CCX scale-ability is amazing honestly and should win over a LARGE number of people, I'm not sure what else Intel can do instead of creating a similar design. I do wish AMD did a straight 4c/8t single CCX to cut latency purely for gaming but I'm not sure how feasible this would even be within the arch and you would be limited to 2c-4c anyways.
Something like 80% yield is incredible especially considering the majority of the 20% will make R5/R3.

7nm LP (which Zen2 will be based on) is widly different to 14nm LPP. It's an IBM node which means absolutely hellish clocks.
>>61179030
thank you based futuregoy
>>61183181
I'm from 2025. AMD is almost a monoply and implemented pajeet&jew botnet and anticonsumer practices. Intel now are the good guys and /g/ roots for them.

good point, the share of new intel sales is probably even smaller than the graph lets on because of all the people running benches on their legacy intel products still in use.
>>61183180
I was under the assumption that Zen2 was 14nm again, probably read it early on during the R7s release. It looks like Zen2 it's 7nm, Zen3 is 7nm+.
In that case Zen2 looks to be a great improvement then, probably will wait out getting Zen2 personally unless Intel opens a secret vault.
>spend nearly two decades scamming people in all sorts of different ways, with bribing, fud, viral marketeers, overcharging for shit products etc

Following on from this apparently whatever AMD is releasing Q1 2018 is refined Zen1, on 14nm+, with Zen2 coming late 2018. That's where the 4.5GHz came from as I was basing it on the 14nm+ refinement.
If I'm wrong please correct me.
>>61183297
Crazy bastards haven't changed much the last few years, given the R+D money pile they are sitting on surely they have something right?
>>61183365
> given the R+D money pile they are sitting on surely they have something right?
Their x86 R&D budget is barely bigger than AMD's. Money goes into fabs and memory. And networking.
