hey /g/ anyone here use Broadwell processors? i have a 5675 and it runs games great with its integrated iris 6200 but it gets damn hot like 70c while gaming and stays there. Is this common with this processor? Is it ok to keep using it? You'd think the stock cooler would be deigned to keep the temp down but nooo. Ill need to get a cooler that can fit in a mini itx now.
also cute mini pc case thread.

70 degrees and up on stock cooler is very much normal.

Its still scary to see my cpu there with my old 8440 i had in a nine hundred case with a z600 cooler is idled at about 25 and rarely got above 45 when gaming

8400*
Post your mini itx pcs!

Nope, it's perfectly safe.
The CPU would begin throttling at unsafe temperatures so it wouldn't fry itself.

Ah i figured as much but wont it reduce the cpu life being at high temps? Ill still invest in a cooler though as its quite loud under load. maybe a compact sealed water cooled setup since its such a small case.
no mini itx love on g?
