I don't know much about computers so don't crucify me if this is a stupid or obvious question.
I'll keep it short, I only use my computer to watch videos, it's on its last leg and won't play hd movies anymore. I'm super straped on cash and would like to know if this would be good for what I'm looking for. 720-1080p video and can run Civ 5.

It looks like I can but Idk how I'd tell if the integrated graphics would do the trick for both running civ 5 and hd video playback. Thanks in advance.

I think it'd probably struggle. civ 5 looks like it wants a dedicated graphics card, and that pc doesn't have one.
better forget about gaymen, mang

My brothers store bought desktop runs it pretty well and I'm positive its running on integrated graphics. Is there any way to tell if this computers will support it?
>>51587846
I remember hearing that games like civ are mainly processor intensive rather than graphics or..idfk ram? Not really trying to play anything but that. Any chance within budget relative to this desktops price?
>>51587854
I was looking into it more, and it looks like the core 2 duo doesn't have any integrated graphics unit, civ isn't a super intensive game, but I still don't know if the core 2 duo would handle it. If you can find any pc with an intel core i3, that'll definitely be able to run civ

You're speaking of the core 2 duos integrated, or lack there of, graphics? Because on the specs page for civ 5 the processor says at least core 2 duo 1.8. Thanks for the help btw.
Yeah wow I didn't even notice there arnt any graphics specs listed for that desktop. So if I find an i3, will its integrated graphics suffice?
>>51587867
what's you maximum budget?
>>51587953
I'm talking about integrated graphics (iGPU). The system specs say that it wants a core 2 duo AND a graphics processor.
core i3 and above have a graphics processor built into the chip so you wouldn't need a seperate unit, but core 2 duo does not have an iGPU. So to meet the minimum specs on that site you'd either need the core 2 duo and a gpu, or a core i3 (which includes a gpu on the chip)
here's a thread I found

Why the hell did you butcher the urls?

175 tops, I was looking at an Asus Chromebox and would install Windows 8.1 but this shit is so foreign to me idek.
>>51587993
I assumed it wouldn't let me post one, Idk. Lol
>>51587991
Ahh I see, thanks.

Yes, an i3 would easily run civ 5. My roommate had a laptop with the same processor and he was able to run half life 2, bioshock, and others
APU, best price performance

What about this? I'm almost positive this will work, but again I know virtually nothing to do with hardware, so it like to make sure lol

Also, it seems the cheapest i3 is out of my price range.
You can easily throw together an apu bare bones.
4gb ram stick is around 30 bucks at 1600
Fm2+ boards are about fifty
An A8 quad can be had for around 70-80
