All the better games with good gameplay and large communities typically don't have very high graphic requirements.

I think pc gaming is a bit of a niche. Nvidea is just selling more because it has better deals for pre builds with distributors favouring intel CPU's as they're better for home usage. They thus come more often with a Nvidea graphics card build in (or none at all).

And if you're going to cite Mantle as being the same, it isn't. Mantle completely replaced the renderer and only worked on GCN cards. Nvidia saw no performance loss because they couldn't even run it in the first place.

Is it worth it? I was planning on going skylake because my current system is a little barebones for my needs. I got a i5 4430 cpu and shitty mobo for free, been using that because why not. I've found several times that I've been cpu bound and I'm starting to dabble into video stuff, so an i7 seems better for me, especially when I can OC. Plus my mobo is severely lacking in regards to sata connections. My wallet is going to hate me.

/blog post I know, but can anyone speak for 970 sli setups? I run at 1440p which my single 970 can mostly handle on high-ish settings, but some games have issues, like fallout 4. Though I think that is in large part due to my cpu. Fuck, I just don't know what to do.

I don't know why, just that every driver after 358.50 won't let me use two displays. Theres a few random topics on the geforce forums about it, but I haven't seen anything from nvidia about it.

In short, going into the nvidia control panel shows both monitors, but only the primary display works. When I try to enable the second display, it unchecks itself and doesn't turn on. It isn't a cable issue, and both displays do work on their own, its only when I try to use both at once that it doesn't work. Extending the displays works, but having them both on and their own native resolution does not. This wouldn't be an issue if both of mine were 1080p, but I have one at 1080p and another 1440p. Extending them makes the 1440 only display at 1080. Something fucky is going on, but all I know is that it is a driver issue. I'm not the only to have this happen.

My dilemma a couple of days ago was to buy a 970. Then AMD dropped the prices so I bought a 390 because the one I liked became cheaper. Then the evening rolled around and nvidia dropped their prices making the 970 I was looking at cheaper then the 390 I bought.
