Looks like a bug. You might want to report it. Alternatively, it's possible that 4chanx loads the js instead of 4chan and that messes with librejs as it seems to be using the page's source, possible before any injection.

The text-based "legacy" captchas do require Javascript. There is a non-Javascript fallback but it has been broken for months. The new image ones have a non-Javascript fallback which works, though, and that is what 4chan X loads when Javascript is disabled or "Force Noscript Captcha" is turned on:
