The guide is extremely biased and it should be removed. In fact, there should only be the request purchase advice and the wiki link in the OP, along with the previous thread. The 200 and over headphone image and the IEM guide can go in the wiki.

The OP is lazy for not checking the anon request from the previous thread.

Shitty apple IEM

The main purpose of these is going to be noise isolation for playing to songs on my drumset. I need as little noise getting through as possible so i can hear the music and to keep myself from going deaf at 21. After that I'm gonna wear them while I'm walking around my house and outside. And probably for gaming too. Nothing that requires batteries if possible.

I own a pair.

they're VERY detailed, you will hear everything
that being said, they're very airy, and lack punch and have a huge almost too big sound stage.

I hear the Q701s have more punch so I would recommend those, also the fucking headband, it makes them so fucking uncomfortable and you get lumps on your head.

I would recommend the K7XXs over them any day.

Hello /hpg/, my MDR-7506 arrived today.
I bought the pair based on advice regarding monitoring and my 100€ budget.

The bass is neutral, kind of low and it doesn't get faded by other frequencies. Mids are a bit saturated which make it annoying to listen to classical music. The highs however, are great. Clear and crispy, like it should be for monitoring. Another thing is that the soundstage isn't great, but that's not unexpected.

Listening to vocals is great and in complex tracks you can easily distinguish the highs, like hats. That's the biggest advantage over my friend's HD-25.

you already gave me enough info to make the proper choice. 250ohm is the one that starts to need an amp, and even then it's only "sometimes." you could try that if you want, but it's not really necessary. if you dont need really loud music, go for it, but if you like it loud, stick with 80ohm

JackShit, my best pair were an 80$ pair of Klipsch IEM, and they were alright

My choices right now are the Sennheiser 598's for 100 on amazon, or the Beyer Custom One Pro's for like 150,
I'm looking for a good durable pair of headphones that will last me a good while, I know sennheiser's are known for being durable, but Beyer's have metal construction around the bands, which seem like a really attractive feature.
Durability are probably one of the more important deciding factors
I also enjoy the fact that the Beyer's have phone controls and a mic, because this will be used for gaming and possibly for use on my phone.
as far as I'm aware, both have removable cables, and the Sennheisers are open back and the Beyers are closed.
My major question is if the Beyer's audio quality and durability good, and if they are, do they offset the 50$ price difference to the deal the sennheiser's are at for 100

Why is it that

the black version is much cheaper than the ivory version?
Is their a difference in quality or is it really just aesthetics only?

Because the black one is HD558.

not necessarily, some headphones are very sturdy, and it depends a lot on the owner too, most of the guys on the forum i've suggested seem to be carefull (being collectors and all), in fact, a lot of them just get headphones for testing and later sell them.
Anyway, i was just looking around the forum and haven't seen anything very good for you budget, i'd suggest importing a v6/7506 if you can find it for less 50$, but the pads on them will rot away in months and importing new pads can be a real nightmare some times...
can i assume you have about R$200,00 for spending? gonna check with a few other sellers.

No, thats the AD900X, i live very much how it sounds, but not more than the DT880.

I've read some reviews saying that after a year there are some problems with the low frequency sound, and I haven't found any good deal for them.

Right now i'm looking at ATH-M50X, but I don't understand if they're really bassy.

I saw the sennheiser HD215II, too, tge reviews are saying they have a good bass.

What do you think?

according to innerfidelity's measurements

I love mine and when I got them (for £60) they really did feel like they are worth every penny.

The treble is lovely and detailed, the mids come through quite nicely, its really just a shmae they lack bass, like there is almost none, it seems to be accurate bass what is there, just very little of it.

They are really comfortable and quite light aswell, I have a pair of ATH M50's and going betweeen the 2 in terms of comfort is like night and day.

If you can get them for a decent price they are worth it, that said considering those 598's are on sale I cant rightly say which is better as I havent tried them.

Comes with a change of velour ear pads and other accessories as a nice touch.

Are these better than the 598 or the dt770/880
>>
>>51560083

Yeah but I'm locked to shopping at webhallen for now, unfortunately
>>
>>51560091
It isn't, the HD598 is more neutral and has a better extended FR.
>>51560103
Strong V shaped headphones.

I just did it. Did I do okay /g/?
>>
>>51560103
nope, but HD598 is not that good either, HD558 is the same headphone (same drivers), you can mod it to sound just like the HD598.
In terms of v-shape the DT880 is much closer to neutral than the DT990 and the DT770.
>>
>>51560226
you fucked up
>>
Look at all these people talking about HD 598 now that it's on sale

Anyone know of anywhere trustworthy that I could get some sony MDR V6/7506's in the uk for a decent price?

Would a DT880 Edition/Premium or a German Maestro GMP400 be an upgrade from an AKG K612 Pro?
>>
>>51560284
Yes
>>
>>51560284
No
There isn't even a better pair for 200 dollars today
>>
>>51560305
No, K612 is flatter and much better than the DT880.

DT880 is quite rubbish to be honest family.

Is the HD598 even comparable to one of these three? I have a feeling that they are overvalued for what they are.

please, HD600, DT880 and k702 were considered the big three even after the HD598, you are delusional if you think that now, for some reason, HD598 is better.

Should i get this?

Currently using O2 Headphone Amp and Beyerdynamic DT 990 600ohm cans. Wondering if investing in a DAC is worth it? And if I do, how much should I invest in one?

Only do it if the current setup has audible deficiencies.

Are you enjoying the 0.1% better sound quality these headphones grant over headphones which cost 800$ less?
>>
>>51560911
you dont need a dac
>>
>>51560947
>better sound quality
They sound worse than the DT880 which are at least $1400 less.
>>
>>51560947
If I actually think that the headphones are worth it, the amp not so much. I guess you pay for the kind of appealing looks.

Does anyone have beyerdynamic custom studio measurements? It's hard to find shit about them.

It's not a clock, it's a chiral harmonic soundstage eigenmode decorrelator.

>see 598 on sale
>sell M50X and get 598
>cable is long as fuck
>3.5" adapter doesnt even fit in my phone case
>tfw portability isnt an option anymore

It sounds better to me, but I use it much less than I used to use my M50s just because its such a drag to deal with. I pretty much just have it plugged into my computer, and if I want to listen to anything outside of my room I have to deal with the hassle of untangling that cord and taking off my phone case. In the end I just end up using my IEMs instead.

I know this is a petty as fuck reason, but did anyone else go through the same thing?

There's this weird meme going on right now about Sennheiser headphones.
I'm considering picking them up too, considering they're 120 USD in my country but every other pair of headphones is either not available or overpriced as fuck.
