I need to transmit audio from laptop to 100meter distance. The audio should be encrypted. The reciever has to be small and portable.

What are my options? Are there any modules you know i could use? I have basic soldering skills.

Bluetooth is too short range for me :(

>even trivial encryption will do

>receiver should be about size of a USB stick or simple RTC-module

Real time encryption?
>>
>>51553120
Yes, should work real time

Alternative is to find a module that works on 2.4ghz and can do audio transmitting with out any additional ADC's
>>
What are you transmitting the audio to? Another laptop?

to small headphone amplifier.

>30-50m range
>no encryption

What latency we are talking about?

2000ms is acceptable.

budget?

Is the 100m distance in an open area? If it is I would use wifi, directional antennas and a cheap used netbook. Set up mumble on it..
>>
>>51553470
mostly open area, some trees etc might be in the way but not much.

unfortunatly cant use netbook, has to be a portable solution. Has to be smaller than any android phone i could find.

>has to be smaller than any phone
What are your size and weight requirements? Is this for a quadcopter or what?
>>
>>51553512
weight can be as much needed.

Size cant exceed 70mm X 40mm X 5mm

Battery does not need to be included.

This is for disabled person but you not need to worry about him operating, handling the device.
>>
>>51553529
hmm, can't you use a raspberry pi? Yeah, they don't fit your size requirement though (except the zero which doesn't have analog audio out). Maybe search for a similar small board, I don't know any though.

There's smartwatches out there that take sim cards, maybe you need to look for one that has mobile internet.
>>

thank you, those are good ideas

I also came up with just stripping my old Nokia phone 8210 to bare minimals and have it auto answer a call.

Stop planning heists, enlightened Tyrone.
How about optical? Like laser, but this sounds like a big hassle. Otherwise just slap some shit on two rp0's and use 2.4 ghz modules.
Or directional wifi antennas. I did this for ip cameras, worked quite well and is easy to setup on an android environment.
Try asking /diy/.
