What does /g/ use for organizing images? I have like 10,000+ I have accumulated over the years posting on this site and it's nearly impossible to find anything anymore. Windows Explorer is pure trash since things can only ever be in one folder/category at a time. Is there an alternative or replacement for Explorer that would allow me to sort things into multiple categories at once and be able to find them for posting on 4chan or other things?
>>
>>51535852
We're both in the same sticky situation. I'm bumping your thread. I need answers too. You could delete them but I rather sort them into a nice looking directory of folders. Halp.

What do you mean? Just name images as tags, put them all in one folder and search them in Windows Explorer.

Pretty neat, but too fucking expensive.

I name most of my pics with descriptive filenames and then use windows explorer's search to find them.
>>
>>51536409
you will still need to have everything manually tagged with relevant tags. It wont go through your anime collection specifically tagging smug anime girls vs angry anime girls vs etc etc.

If you have the time to do some real tagging and shit, that software would be nice. But I need something that will automatically tag my pictures, lets face it, I'm not manually tagging 1000s of pictures, even if i wanted to.
>>
>>51537348
OP here, that's retarded. There is no software that's going to look at your goddamn image folder and sort your anime reaction faces by emotion. It's not possible.
>>
I'm doing this with my reaction pics
>name the pictures "(reaction) (character's name).(file format)"
>want to post a smug anime face
>open up the file browser
>type "reac", press enter
>type "smu"
>pick suitable smug anime face

I only use like 10 or so reaction images, I don't have this problem
>>
I use a shotty script I wrote. It takes a path to a directory of images, uploads each one to an image processing service, and renames each file to the top most relevant tags.

Usually works well but the image processing service can occasionally have trouble with certain images.
>>
You won't find a program that fixes being childish enough to save 10k anime reaction images to use in shitty Internet arguments while not being autistic enough to not have probably tagged and cataloged then in the first place.

I know it feel special to have a above average size 4chan folder. But you should probably assess it'd actual usage.
>>
>>51537428
That looks perfect. But does it replace explorer for the most part or is it basically just for finding things all thrown in one big folder on your hard drive. What I mean is, if I click the browse button on the 4chan post form for example, will it open up that and let me search for what I want, click it, and post like normal? Or will I have to still look through a folder of 10000 images loosely sorted and a total mess to actually get to the one I need? If it's only for viewing images it wouldn't be much use.

It throws everything into a folder in it's installation

but there are a number of ways to combat this

Files can drag and drop if you have 4chan x
and you can copy file paths or images from the client (Ctrl + C)

I've given up on organizing via a hierarchy, a tag system is the only logical way but there's no good cross platform standards. I've decided to migrate to Hydrus since it's the only sane solution for an insane problem. Having that with IPFS integration, I couldn't ask for anything more.

I have around 2 million images of various levels of organization and tag levels, I'm going to be real happy if I can share them with everyone via IPFS. I'm guessing it's going to work like normal but with an IPFS hash so that you can search the public DHT for tag X and get back a list of hashes that are tagged with that (downloading at least thumbnails along the way). Good times ahead.

A program like that exists, I don't remember the name. Hydrus will also do this in a way if you import the booru tag database then add your files they'll already be tagged, same goes for the public tag repo.

how do i import boorus database? the owner of danbooru is a kike and the tags from there are all perfectly updated

The Hydrus maintainer has a collection.
https://www.mediafire.com/hydrus#yoy1dx6or0tnr

They are in the hydrus format though so that may not have been what you were asking for. You could probably look into converting them though.
>>
>>51537348
>you will still need to have everything manually tagged with relevant tags
It supports automatisation anon. It also can do some color spec analysis and stuff like this and use an external tool to do image recognition for you (as in a script to do Google image search and find out which anime and the Google emotion search thing etc).

>But I need something that will automatically tag my pictures, lets face it, I'm not manually tagging 1000s of pictures, even if i wanted to.
See above.

This works well if you use something like Voidtools' Everything but it's still hacky.

>>51537403
>sort your anime reaction faces by emotion. It's not possible.
Funny enough this seems like the next logical thing to be automated, sorting by color and such already exists, facial recognition already exists, and there have been many attempts at figuring out someones emotion via a pattern, I bet that could be adapted into drawn characters. A fully automated and tagged future is coming.
>>
>>51537898
The database only contains image hashes and the tags associated with them, it doesn;t contain the images themselves. That is to say if you have an image that hashes into a hash in that database then it will already be tagged.

I've been trying to do this with my wallpapers, as currently the system for sharing in hydrus is servers and clients.

I'm working on system (and it's almost done, but lazy).

I asked dev to store tags in txt files as an option, which needs to be adapted for, but we grab these tags and apply them as jpg exif, or as png has no tags, convert them to tiff, which are lossless and have tag compatibilty.

From there, we can just export it to onedrive or something, as well as a local directory, because
>windows wallpapers

this means users who want to grab wallpapers don't need the client/server and just get from cloud, and have tagged images

Still need functionality in hydrus to run command on export

>>
>>51537933
danbooru has some shitty shit
like you need to pay money for multiple tag searching

If you sync up with dev's public repo though, anyone who submits a tag on the exact same image (hash) will be avaliable in your selection (in tandem if 'all known tags' is on -defualt)
>>
>>51537918
This is a very nice feature, I hope it makes its way into the main branch.

>>51537933
No, are you in the tag archives directory? There should be several sites.

Unless you made them, delete them.
>>
>>51537933

Unless you meant "can I download only gelbooru" then yes you can, they're separate archives for each site.

>>51537954

>>51537959
We've talked about external tags numerous times on 8 and other medias

my friend and I don't even python,
that's why we make command line tools

Powershell's pretty powerful
>>
I rename them manually, but I use 2-3 letters long stubs of tags, then I wrote a program that expands those stubs to the full names. The key is to start doing that from the beginning - I've renamed 68k images like that but still can't bring myself to sort my old collection despite it being less than 10k.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
