Will they become great again? Will Nvidia and Intel dominate GPUs and CPUs in the future?

Maybe. At least they'll be significantly better than they are currently, and thats something.

Trump pls

Never. All the talent is at Nvidia and Intel. Unless they somehow get a breakthrough in technology and come out with something vastly better for cheap and don't fuck it up with something like usual they will always be the poorfags choice.
>>
>>51533018
how did they not make huge gains during the fermi fiasco?
also AMD is selling to all consoles. they're not going to die.

>having the best gpu for years during the 5870 era
>having the best price:performance gpu for years during the 5870-7770 eras
just goes to show dis-informed customers kill the market from producing the best technology (see how dipshits at every retail store said "BUY THIS SHITTY LCD! IGNORE THE GLORIOUS PLASMA!")
And now no one even produces god tier PDPs anymore.
fucking gay earth is overrun with stupid faggot pieces of shit, who only make it worse for everyone else.
>>
They are the best option for most users right now with the 390.

The truth is that they won't ever regain their past glory until they get more connections and better marketing.

You're retarded to still but a 970 instead of a 390, yet they fly off the shelves and appear in almost every newbie's build I see.
>>
>>51533018
Big reason for that drop from 38% was the bitcoin shittery that had everything AMD out of stock for roughly 3 months.

That market share analysis is based off people using various applications partnered with Mercury. The buttcoin fukbois didn't fall into that metric.
>>
>>51532853
If there was any future to the desktop CPU/GPU market, then maybe, but those are dying platforms. The future only has room for ARM.
>>
>>51533072
Marketing matters more than performance or value.
The company with the best marketing wins.

AMD has always comeup with great groundbreaking tech.

meanwhile nvidya steals great and open, free tech just to fuck its competition. (freesync rip off aka gsync, buying out physx just to fuck developers, when it just ends up fucking the consumers more than anything)
>>
>>51533076
390 is a 290oc rebrands.
>>
I really would prefer to support AMD over nvidia because
>3.5
>gimping old cards
>that "60 fps" batman video
>drm for drivers

but AMD's cards run hot as fuck and are voracious in terms of their power draw.

pls help

Only the top tier AMD cards run hot, and most of them aren't much worse than nVidia for power efficiency.
I'm definitely picking up a 380X when they hit stores.

yeah, AMD is going places soon

Have had 3 nvidia GPUs and one AMD GPU before

actually had some bad luck with the AMD GPU, but I then learned that Sapphire is just awful and I'll be trying AMD again next time I get a GPU
