I can't quite say, I watched it before I knew the other movies Studio Ghibli made (didn't realize until later that night that they made Kiki's Delivery Service that I saw 16-17 years before) and after hearing it being mentioned along side the movies We Were Soldiers and Come and See (still haven't seen it, supposedly the most brutal war movie of all time) in a war movie thread on /k/, so I was expecting it to be much worse than it actually was and it really didn't bother me much (the movie We Were Soldiers bothered me a bit more). I need to watch Grave of the Fireflies again to see if it'll be different the second time. So far, no movie or show has ever made me cry like a bitch and it would be an interesting experience to find one that would, although I'm worried about what it would actually take to get me to that point.
