MPC-HC, hell, even WMP is better than those.

For old igpu or shitty gpu, kodi.
For recent igpu or good gpu, kodi with mpv as external player.

So kodi is amazing as media manager with its fast scrapers.
But mpv has just the best video renderer, best subtitle engine and other extras.

MPV is a better video player for a desktop/laptop, but if you're using a HTPC setup on a TV, Kodi with a remote is superior in every possible way.

I tried kodi on my PC and it was just a shitty file manager with a shitty media player. What's the point of it if it doesn't even do shit like automatically grab posters and genre tags based on the filename?
