Gtk looks better than Qt. That's just a poorly designed app and a low quality theme.

Gtk3 apps with the headerbar look especially good.

Indeed it is. It looks quite nice in screenshots but the "activities" design is quite bizarre. However it can be mostly tweaked via extensions which are pretty cool.

I don't mind the activities view but I rarely use it anyway. I usually only have 1-3 windows per workspace, so alt-tab suffices to switch between them. Then I have super+j/k to move between workspaces, and super+shift+j/k to move windows between workspaces. And I have keybindings for my most used apps. So the only time I use the activities view is to search for a file, or to open a lesser-used app.

Interesting. I need to try it out again, I was interested in using Fedora as it comes with 3.18 but I am not much of a Fedora fan, I much prefer the Debian way of doing things.

When Ubuntu GNOME is updated to 3.18 I think I will give it a spin.
