Hi guys,
I was wondering if you could help me in my quest for the search of the perfect Linux distro.
I've tried quite a lot (Manjaro, OpenSuse, Fedora, Mint, LXLE ...) and never found the perfect one.
What I want:
- Being able to use NVIDIA proprietary drivers
- Being able to use the AUR (or easily compile myself)
- No bloated softwares shit like vanilla Ubuntu
- If possible, the Cinnamon desktop
I almost consider myself an advanced user, I can edit cfg files, can compile stuff etc...
So, do you have any suggestions?
>Install Gentoo
Is this just a meme or is it actually good?
Also is it possible to use proprietary drivers easily with Slackware?
It looks like you have no idea what you're doing and your conditions obviously point towards Arch, which is perfect.

I've tried Manjaro, i really liked it but I left it because of some bullshit issues. Maybe I'll try it again with the cinnamon DE.

just download Antergos, you plebicus maximus, it installs arch with a bunch of packages and you get to choose the DE it sets up.

why would I chose Antergos over Manjaro?
thanks for the request btw

Antergos is basically Arch, with an extra package repository added (which can easily be removed in seconds.) Antergos is more a custom installer for Arch than a unique OS.
Manjaro has it's own repositories, so it's basically an OS built on the Arch framework.

Thanks anon, I'll try this.
I was going to recommend Slackware until you said Nvidia. I would recommend Debian, despite the systemd. Like Slackware, it's stable as fuck. It's better than Slackware for drivers.
>MATE
Higly recommend it and i don't know why it is so unpopular.
Stable lightweigh5 and looking 90s retarded like LXDE

There's no reason to install Antergos now that Arch itself has an installer. It's called Architect.

Arch
Arch
Arch
Arch
Gentoo works if you're a nerd
