How do you prevent carpal syndrome? I feel like the wrist rests are meme. When I feel pain in my wrist area, I use a stack of paper for few hours and then nothing to complain.
Worse is the eyes though. It often hurt at night.

Maybe if I were to damp the brightness more aggressively than it is done by default it would reduce the damage on my eyes.

redshift sucks and f.lux is available for linux now, the package name is fluxgui, you may have to add the ppa/get it from aur or whatever your distros equivalant is

last time I tried redshif it was just a daemon that had no easily accesable options, so how can it work right if you don't tell it where you're located?

You can edit redshift.conf and manually input your coordinate as lat and lon
I just get the coordinate of my city via google maps.

At night, if the monitor is the only light source, that is the problem. Turn on room lights. Eyes get fatigued at bright and dark at the same time.
