What does /g/ think of Linus's build guide?
>>
>>51469230
Not enough 18-core Xeons, 128GB RAM kits, and 4-way Titan X.
>>
>>51469230
>AMD CPU and low end nVidia GPU
>>
I usually love his videos but for every build he was recommending some nVidia card.

Sorry but price/performance the r9 380 is the best choice.
>>
>amd cpu
>2gb gpu thats going to get crippled by new drivers next year
>seagate hdd
>ugly big case
>no psu?
lel
>>
Anybody who recommends Seagate drives haven't had enough "broken" computers to fix with just dead Seagate HDD.
>>
I used to watch his vids just to get a look at stuff like cases and what have you. If you take computer advice from someone with ASD though you are a fucking retard
>>
>>51469581

I have been lucky with my seagate hard disk (About 6 years and still going) compared to my experiences with WD where i've had 1 external that lasted about 2 years~, several laptop WD hard disks that died (Replaced 3 inside 3 years on a laptop that was barely even used and was rarely moved whilst on too) and 1 in my PS3 that died too.
>>
>>51469621
I would not watch him for computer advice, I just like watching tech related stuff. I like the scrapyard wars stuff and and I like seeing him create stupid rigs with 7000 cores and a billion gigs of RAM etc (obviously exaggerating but you get my point).
>>
>>51469520
dem drivers doh
>>
>>51469680
i hate any of the experiments he does. When he is checking out single products though he is pretty thorough and usually addresses things i had questions about. I don't give his recommendations any more weight than any other person though.

Sigh. When will this meme die?
>>
>>51469230
so thats linus? coder of linux?
>>
>>51469230

He's an obvious shill now.

Shame because he used to be okay until every video started having his own personal advertisements.

Who needs a good PSU anyways
>>
>>51469728
When amd's card are as good irl as on the spec sheet
>>
>>51469704
I actually like pretty much all his content except for the product reviews oddly.
When I want a product review I generally try and get views from about 10 different places to get a wide spectrum of views.

I can't help but feel anything he said would be biased as clearly he has a bit of a NVidia hard on.
>>
>>51469581
Old seagates are okay. It seems that every post-flood seagate has been ass though.

Don't really like his builds, but he's a good source of tech news. And it's fun seeing him build $10000 PCs.
>>

>When I want a product review I generally try and get views from about 10 different places to get a wide spectrum of views.
yeah same. when i'm building a pc or something i'll get a shortlist of stuff and then get as many different reviews and vids on the stuff as possible. and then just come to my own conclusion. But i prioritise gay shit like colour coordination and stuff a little too highly. It's never prevented me from picking top rated parts though

Get a tripcode then you massive cunt.
>>
>>51469812
if i didn't want people stealing my name i would do just that. It would be hilarious if all of /g/ started using this name though, and then new outlets stopped saying anonymous hackers, and said Jack - *VIP* - Verified Expert hackers

You mean the ones that don't literally kill GPUs, don't crash with internet videos, don't fail to support flagship cards on new OSes, and even provide tesselation control so that, unlike Nvidia, you're not fucked by retarded Shitworks effects? Also, the ones that don't require your email, social security number and underwear color just so you can have driver updates?

This idiot is copying my name, I don't know why.
I will always be the Apple friendly user, always willing to help people with their Apple problems, without ever using a tripcode. This fad of people using my name will soon be over, out of respect for me.

I only like watching his monitor videos because he has an ultrawide fetish and almost nobody else covers those in-depth.

of course you should use windows but buying windows on a budget build is full retard, not to mention that Microsoft is literally giving windows 10 away for free.
