Jolla apps are very well integrated into each other.
I don't really use many Android apps, but the ones I installed from Aptoide work (one said that "Google Play is required", but when I click on "Get it" the pop up goes away and it just werkz)
Having multiple apps running in parallel (like you can see on the home screen) and even control them (like audio and video player) is really nice.

Also even though the specs aren't all that great it's quite fast and responsive, very content with my purchase.
Also most apps in the Jolla store are open source AND good (i.e. the Youtube player in the picture allows you to directly download the videos, subsequent playing of that video will be loaded from system memory -- doesn't support everything the official app does though).

- Standby/phone time is good, but when you keep playing around with it and keep streaming videos it empties in a few hours (about 10 or so)

I would really love to get one but the likes of my banking app for a start and then I do use a lot of stuff that relies on Google Play Services although I think I read somewhere that it was possible to get it onto the Jolla phone.

Maybe if they release a 2nd phone in the future I would consider it.
I recently got a Huawei Honor 6 Plus and for my huge hands the 5.5" screen is actually pretty on point, I don't think I could go back to a small screen now.

Different Jolla owner here, it's absolutely possible to install google play services on it. I had to do it in order to use a banking app as well as snapchat, and it worked flawlessly. Also got me the google play store, working just like on android

They didn't publicly say to (because it would be retarded to do so) but I think the reason is something else.
My theory is: The Chinese actually did produce the first batch, Jolla then noticed they fucked up in a critical part of the system design which rendered the produced devices unsellable (hence why the CTO R&D is now "ex-CTO R&D". But the Chinese only got the design specification, and they produced as per specification, so there's no chance to get any money back. So now they needed to fix the error(s) and make a new batch which will hopefully work.
