Consider using Firefox or a more privacy friendly rebrand thereof with a password manager with 2FA.

As a rule of thumb:
Password manager with 2FA > local session cookies > manually retyping passwords

Password manager with 2FA: Best practice. Generate high entropy passwords for individual websites and services. Automate logging in by using a password manager, locked by a master password you remember to unlock your vault (don't enable 'remember password') and your 2FA key (something you physically have). Master password may get compromised, but without your 2FA key it's still useless.

Local session cookies: Pleb practise. When used with high entropy passwords, you don't need to keep logging in.

Manually retyping passwords: Worst practice. This gets very tedious and as a result you're likely to pick poor entropy passwords, which you typically reuse for multiple services and websites.

Sidetabs are olev. I wish they'd make a mode where they behaved exactly like omniweb.

Omniweb was the living shit back in the 2000's.

firefox+pentadactyl
Though seriously, if some other browser implemented Pentadactyl/Vimperator-like plugin with all their power, UBlock, Rikaisama and Greasemonkey (for 4chanX), I would switch in a heartbeat.
Unfortunately, such an alternative doesn't exist now, and even the primary option will probably stop existing soon due to XUL being cut out.

I've always heard good things about the SeaMonkey browser but I'm hesitant to have to get all of the other bundled stuff. Are the built-in email and IRC clients good enough to be worth it?

Also is SeaMonkey still free and non-snooping, unlike the unfortunate fate that has befallen FireFox?

It's Thunderbird built into your browser.

I haven't used it, but it can be removed if you don't like it. It's just the ChatZilla extension preinstalled

Vivaldi. As Mozilla is hellbent into creating Chrome 2 and there is no other browser around with a similar non native UI around (no, Firefox forks will not be able to keep their customizable UI in the future) Vivaldi is my way to go.

Just added some nice color to the toolbar buttons with a simple line of CSS!

.button-toolbar.back, .button-toolbar.forward, .button-toolbar.next, .button-toolbar.rewind, .button-toolbar.reload, .button-toolbar.home, #tabs-container .trash {
-webkit-filter: sepia(100%) hue-rotate(88deg) saturate(3) brightness(40%) !important;
}
>>
>>51460009

I would use it if I hadn't gotten used to the new Firefox layout already. I used Pale Moon for like two minutes and the first thing that happened is that I dragged and dropped a tab into the bookmarks toolbar when I tried to move it around (which there isn't a risk of in modern FF).

But yeah, it feels a bit faster than regular Firefox, and it's less of a resource hog.

Here you see the beauty of a non native UI - Too bad that Mozilla decided to create a Chrome clone and Opera too.

Jesus fucking Christ the last pic and this one's font rendering makes me see how shitty Windows' rendering is. Is there any way to get crispy rendering on Windows?
