Posted before, meh, about to be cruising for a week, so one last speccy thread.

Now that I have a 2k+ display I consider my rig complete, with the exception of a mechanical keyboard and SteamVR (whenever that comes out). Not sure I'll even care about the keyboard, been using a Saitek Eclipse II for like 6 years and still like it.

And for the Hitachi HDD, it has held up pretty good it's about as old as the CPU i think.

Saw you in lasts nights thread man, actually I'm sure the Q9550 and that 8Gb of Ram still hobble along alright. I mean it'll probably choke your GPU a tiny bit but not horribly. Next thing I'd get is an SSD. I've seen the load times between when I had FO4 on a mechanical and SSD, jesus that game takes like 2 minutes to reload even on a decent HDD

I bought the 380 2 month ago because it only needed a single 8pin connector (I Got a shitty Chieftec 500W PSU)
No buyers remorse but the Gigabyte G1 R9 380X only needs a single 8pin too, so theres that, but the differences in perfomance aren't that big of a deal (maybe 1-5 fps average)

Overal solid card, stays at 69-71 C while gaming

Where do you live? even a craptastic 120Gb Sandisk SSD would be a good upgrade, and you can find those brand new for like $55, at least here in the states. You might want to check your craigslist too, it's a crapshoot but there's nothing better than the rich, busy, and technically illiterate giving away high end gear for pennies on the dollar.

Well the Currency of Hungary is pretty fucked up (27% VAT) but it was 5-10% cheaper than a 4gb 960 when I bought it. Now you can buy the Nvidia one cheaper.

Probably an HTPC, I have my A10-5800k out on my 52" 1080p TV as a media server/family PC/light gaming rig. Although I think anon there needs to invest in a cheap AIO cooler like an H55 or a low-profile Noctua.

*scratching head* Well your GPU is getting kind of long in the tooth but still servicable. If you mean the hard drives, I've had 2x 3Tb Seagates for over 2 years, had no issues with them at all. They have a few percent more MTBF than the even Tb drives, chances are pretty low or they wouldn't sell so well.

Had some time to kill, went out and took a Speccy of my HTPC rig. Sometime soon i'm going to need to just get a new 4Tb Hard drive and get rid of the octopus of 1Tb external hard drives.

I dont play as much as i used to so i guess its fine, last game i played a few weeks ago is GTA V, solid 60 fps everything on high no AA, have to look pretty hard to find differences between Ultra and High

My 1TB Seagate never had a problem since i bought it in 2011, no bad sectors no nothing, everyone and their mom freaks out about Seagate in /g/ it made me a bit concerned

7/10, figure the hard drive was some dinosauric piece of crap you had lying around. Also with that much horsepower really need to up it to 1440p+ IMO. CPU is good but your board is a little wasted thanks to it.

The toshiba does quite well. I was surprised as I only use it for storage and emus. I bought the ADATA as a system drive when my WD HDD died. It was on sale and I thought why not? It is decent for what I do in my PC which is play videogames. Im not doing 1440p because I plan to jump straight into 4k gaming when there is a single card solution that gives me 60fps at ultra.

Perhaps, I will upgrade to a kaby lake i7 if they keep the same socket.
