incidentally, did you see spectre? the phone bond sends to moneypenny in the giftbox looked pretty cool.

what were you considering OP?

are the other digital aspects of your life fully immersed in the botnet?

So no.

I'm still rocking one of these and I have no complaints. I don't know if it's the "best" but it's certainly better than having a smartphone.

I still have a Samsung SGH-t809 that I reflashed with the firmware from an SGH-d820 in a box somewhere. Has a POP/IMAP email client, supports MS Office docs, PDF, unsigned J2ME, stereo bluetooth, pictbridge, and a bunch of other stuff T-Mobile disabled when they brought it to the US. And it's about the same size as a RAZR when closed.

Used only for urgent calls if I'm not home.

Some late Nokia S60, basically dumbphone but you'll still be able to use whatsapp/maps and painfully browse something if you really need to.

If you want to go full retard probably some of chinese micro phones, size of few stacked credit cards, some even have microsd and mp3 player.
>>
>>51435478
Yeah I know...good point.
But it still beats forking over big $ to one of the 4 monopolies every month.
>>
>>51435489
m8 if they wanna track you they are gonna do it no matter what
>>
>>51435478

Every phone is tracked with timing advance and triangulation in 300m steps, having dumbphone doesn't help at all.

Have a friend who is heavily into crime, he's using modified chinese phones with imei rotation (very expensive) so you don't have to throw away phone with every sim card change but law enforcement is using some really sophisticated software which will link new number with you based on movement and call patterns, I've been shown how this works since I was in for questioning.

And this is all in shitty slav country, can only imagine what US agencies are capable of.

Step 1: Get a Moto E or Moto G on Republic Wireless
Step 2: Pick the $5 / mo wifi calling only, or $10 / mo no mobile data plan
Step 3: Turn on airplane mode whenever you really don't want to be tracked, or only use it at home / on wifi
Step 4: Save money, easily, without looking like a hardcore sperglord.

I have never had a smart phone, and I'm 29 years old makes me feel lame sometimes but "big data" isn't the main reason it's more like "big fucking price data" for me. Having to watch my internet usage because of bullshit data charges? The phones are also usually pretty damn pricey too, guess I'm just a poorfag. Another main reason is that I as an american can't really get a good flip phone like the one I have similar to that that also has smarter capabilities in it like the ones from Japan. I don't need a giant ass screen let alone having to put my phone in my pocket instead of my nice little carry clip
>>
>>51442577
>that also has smarter capabilities in it like the ones from Japan
Do you mind telling me of a few? I was thinking about importing a jap flipphone and it'd probably be cheaper to buy one from America.
>>
>>51442138
>>51442148
Just embrace the wordfilter, senpai
>>
>>51442609
Oh I was saying in America we can't really get them (to my knowledge) without importing them which would prob be expensive + you would have to see if it even has an English option and if it even works on your carrier's network. Stupid normies want their big ass screen phones instead. Flip phones make more fucking sense. Man the battery usage alone mine measures in terms of "days" instead of a few hours.

>>
>>51432113
If you are that paranoid about being tracked just get a Faraday bag and put your phone in it. Blocks all radio frequencies.
>>
>>51432773

Yes. The government can still track you, but they probably have no reason to care about you unless you're pedo, terrorist, or druggie in which case you're screwed anyways. The low-probability, high-severity stuff will get you anyways (stingrays, white vans outside your door) so you might as well keep the ability to text your mom/gf.

The real advantage is that you cut out a huge swath of the high probability, medium-severity stuff like getting your cc details compromised or the high/low stuff like creepy targeted ads. Carrying around a networked microphone linked to your identity and credit card details makes life convenient but it comes at a cost.
>>
>>51443499
Does the 515 work on verizon?
>>
/g/ doesn't like anything that isn't expensive and shiny.
>>
>>51446821
No, it's GSM. Mine does have dual sim and works in pretty much any country though.
>>
>>51448029
My Droid Turbo has a sim. Can I use that?
>>
>>51448064

If the phone isn't in verizons cdma database you cannot get any GSM phone to work even with a activated Sim card. It's truly fucked in America for consumers when the biggest telecom companies have two different networks and 98% of phones arent compatible on both networks
