Which is best:

DDR3 2400Mhz
Timing: 10-12-12-31

or

DDR3 2133Mhz
Timing: 9-11-11-31

Because i wanted to build a low-end gaming rig?

Kill yourself plz
>>
>>51432860
The ddr3 2400. Running really doesn't matter as much for apus. Take the 2400 kit and see if to can squeeze 2800mhz out of them at stock timing. I know of a couple of people who got ddr3 3000mhz CL11 out of a good kit of 2400mhz sticks.
>>
>>51432860
Lol APUs are shit at gaming. You can't afford a graphics card. Just say that.
>>
>>51432860
It's likely you can afford a $90 dGPU that will be 3x more powerful than an APU.
>>
>>51432881
Kaveri APUs game at the level of current gen consoles

>>51432934
not at a $300 budget, I'm not that guy though so

Its used to play games for about 5 hours a month and i give no fuck about any setting other then resolution. i dont need 1500 cuda cores to do that so no, im not buying a graphics card, that would be a retarded waste of money.
>>
>>51432881
>>51432918
Not the guy your responding to, but an A8 or A10 with fast ram is more than enough to play mainstream shit like League of legends, CsGo etc at 1080p. Never understood the hate. Can build an apu setup for rather cheap compared to a dedicated gpu setup. At least a gpu that matters anyhow.
>>
>>51432955
A8-7670k is $110
860k is $75. 260X has been around $80. (no sales at the moment, though. Probably waiting for BF to bring them back down to normal)
That's $45 more for 3x the performance. It will even be a few bucks less than that since you don't need ricer RAM.
>>
>>51433052
probably more like 30-40% performance

3 times the performance would be the 260x hitting 90fps mid-high settings 1080p
>>
>>51433069
No, an APU has the power of a 240.
Here's the 260X vs a 250:

The 7660D is waaaay below the 260X.

And if you're a poorfag, what are you even doing buying new?
860k + 6950 for $20 more than a A8-7670k, and the same price as an A10.
>>
>>51433145
I was going by the general performance of the APUs which tends to sit around [email protected] and [email protected] in a lot of games

and any multiplayer games it can run well at 1080p, for 300-400 bucks you really can't beat it unless you really skimp out on your other components

>>
>>51433208
>just got told you can beat it by 3X
>"you really can't beat it"
>>
>>51433208
If your budget is 300-400$ and you're playing games

Get up
Headbutt the wall
Go work for another week
Buy a decent computer for a better budget

You're buying something that lasts years and years, spending 200$ extra will grant you innumerable benefits compared to being a cheap retard
>>
>>51433310
Or buy the cheap APU rig, and throw in a dedicated card later
>>
>>51433250
the 260x only beats it by twice as much at best though
>>
>>51433310
OP here.

As i said i barely play games, and give no fuck about any benefit a graphics card could bring as i am perfectly satisfied by my APU. Stop telling me to throw more money at something im not going to use, just because you arent cheap doesnt mean you arent a retard.
>>
>>51433347
No, 2x is pretty much at worst. It's 75% more stream processors with a 40% clockspeed boost. It has 2.6x the bandwidth of DDR3-2400, too. So all around it's 2.4-2.6X a 512 processor APU.
>>
>>51433492
Well can you fit a 260x into a budget around 300?
>>
>>51433391
Then why are you asking about RAM, Mr. Satisfied?
>>
>>51433510
Let's see, I just picked up an XPS 8500 with an i7 3770 and 12GB RAM for $175 off CL yesterday.
A 260X is $100.
Not so hard, now is it?
>>
>>51433520
I meant new
>>
>>51433524
You've been given the prices. If you can't afford the $45 extra, you really shouldn't be spending the $300 in the first place. Get a used C2D rig for $60 and throw in a used $20 9600GT.
>>
>>51430771
Get the one clocked higher, the timing gap is small enough that the offset from the higher speed is greater than the offset from the higher timing.

The only way the high-clocked one is worse is if the timings are MASSIVELY different, but overall, the ones you posted comes to about the same amount of time to latency in response.

(those timings are based on the ram clock, so if that's 9 cycles @ 2133 to do something, as opposed to 10 cycles @ 2400 to do something. also, one MHz is a thousand KHz, and one KHz is a thousand Hz, and one Hz is one Cycle)

tl;dr, get the one clocked higher.
