I use osx for software that I can't use on linux, and even I agree that that looks like shit. I don't even use the dock anymore. Only way to make it look nice is to try and make it look like a linux desktop

The contrast lines actually help. Also increase contrast makes some fonts darker and more legible too.

Why does Safari pause loading the page and capture my input when a password or plugin prompt comes up? Why doesn't double-clicking on a title bar maximize the window? Why do I need to make an app transform into its own full-screen workspace in order to ACTUALLY maximize it? Why don't apps close when you press the red X? Why does the "natural" scroll wheel behavior emulate a touchscreen swipe, instead of a wheel being rolled over the page in the direction that you push it? Why can't you tile windows?

I liked Mac OS before X, it seems like everything is self-consciously designed to be "different" now.
