Hey /g/
Which browser do you use and why?
>>
>>51421980
FF and edge
>>
>>51421989
>and why?
Elaborate
>>
Pale Meme because /g/ said so.
>>
>>51422021
Firefox is perfect with addons and edge is a backup
>>
>>51421980
Google Cuz am having sweg
>>
Firefox since it's the only one that I can use daily. With Chromium as a backup.

>on linux, Firefox Flash is awful so forced to use Chromium
>on Windows Chromium can't into html5 so forced to use Firefox

I wish there was a decent alternative to Firefox but there just isn't one with the layout and extensions I need. Which sucks since Mozilla seem hell bent on destroying it for some reason.
>>
>>51421980
opera 12 primarily at home. work use, chome. shit really is the new ie6. for backup at home, anything. vivaldi mostly. tried to use midori for windows and the fucking thing doesn't support flash. at work, opera 12 is strictly for non work related things while vivaldi is backup. vivaldi acts strangely and crashes at work. no problems at home. exact same usage cases. both are installed as stand alone or portable. very odd.
>>
Safari, because it's fast (muh 60fps scrolling on any site that isn't absolute garbage) and it sips battery
>>
Id like to switch to windows 10. How's edge?
>>
Opera (developer). By far the best browser.

Yandex.
>b-b-but it's a russian botnet
Every browser is a botnet. Would you rather give your info to Google (US) or Yandex (Russia)? Which one do you think is going to share their intell with your government?
Russian botnet is best botnet.
>>
>>51422547
I mean. If you are gonna use a botnet browser at least use a decent one and not just Chrome with a bad skin.
>>
Jumanji because I am used to it and it is nice and it is minimal. I like things that do not have excessive unneeded features and jumanji does not do that and it is a good browser.

Iceweasel on occasion. It is helpful to have a more standard webbrowser and in my circumstances iceweasel is easier than Firefox. I also use it for some experimentation where I can let it have issues and jumanji is fine.

Tor Browser because I like to use Tor sometimes and it is generally a better way to do that.

w3m I use because oftentimes I do not turn on X, and I still sometimes browse the web.

Mothra because I sometimes spend a great deal of time in plan9 virtual machines and mothra works well there.

dwb because jumanji does not like Wayland. When I use Wayland, I will use dwb instead of jumanji (although often when I use Wayland I am not connected to the internet for reasons that I shall not try to explain here).

Sometimes I jst wget things, but generally webbrowsers are more convenient.

I have dillo as a backup and because it sometimes is fun to use.

Did I mention otter-browser?
>>
Chromium . It has the best engine for animation and picture scaling effects.
Firefox wants to die if you give it some effects to render.
>>
>>51421980
Inox browser. It's a Chromium fork with security patches. Some malicious features are removed, but it's no big deal. It's an Arch exclusive btw.
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=198763
>>
>>51421980
Edge because it's the fastest.
>>
>>51422464
Excellent
>>
>>51421980
chromium
Used to use qupzilla, but got fed up with shit breaking and no addons. actually the memory leaks was what made me uninstall it
firefox turned into shit thanks to mozikek and SJWs
for now, chromium works, even if it is botnet but I have no choice
>>
>>51422464
Unfree.
>>
Firefox. It's the best.

Edge is for idiots who don't know better and Chrome is good if you want to be a part of a botnet.
>>
>>51421980
Nightly
>>
Safari on mac. Uses the least ram on my MBP of all browsers so far and I don't use many extensions so I'm okay with it. I just like the 'Add to Reading List feature ' which let's me read stuff while traveling (I know there are extensions but I got used to this).
>>
>>51421980

Firefox, I dont like BOTNETS
>>
>>51421980
SeaMonkey.

The browser everybody here claims to want, but won't try.
>>
>>51423313
The way I see it SeaMonkey is a smart attempt to making a program that is to the internet what Windows is to a computer, but that failed because Windows spoonfeds the users enough already
>>
I've used firefox for years but I'm seriously getting tired of mozilla's crap and the worsening of performance every fucking update
anyone actually using pale moon or vivaldi?
how is it in comparision
>>
>>51421980
Chrome Canary, just works.
>>
>>51421980
None of them, they're all shit now.
FF is the least shitty, but not by much.
>>
When edge updates to have extensions and addons it is gonna be the GOAT browser.

Especially for tablet computers and laptops because it is the only brower made with touch screens in mind.
>>
i google chrome, it feels clean and convinent
>>
>>51423495
I use Vivaldi, or attempt to.

I honestly feel like it is the future of browsers and has a bunch of features which FF and Chrome will eventually steal like tab folders.
However- it is incredibly unstable as it is still in beta.
I would not recommend using it as your main browser, but fucking about with it for fun.
It is a very pretty browser.
>>
Chrome on my desktop, might switch to firefox to have better sync since I use Firefox on my laptop (chrome destroys my battery).
Oh and chrome on my phone
>>
Opera.

Used Opera 12 until they dropped it then switched to FF and started getting annoyed with it's poor speed and shitty psuedofeminists running the company
>>
Opera 12.16
>why
Opera Mail
Opera Turbo
tab stacking
integrated hosts file
integrated userjs support
sidetabs
and a plethora of other features that no browser's been able to replicate well enough for me to switch
>>
>>51421980
I primarily use Firefox, though I have been considering forks so I have less of the intrusive features like hello, or crap I have to disable.

Though for google services I use chrome, since Firefox doesn't work well with some of them like Hangouts. The YouTube app in Hangouts didn't play videos at all last I tried.
>>
>>51424022
well trying out vivaldi now
seems like a pretty cool browser so far
>>
Opera is the shit
>>
>>51422426
>safari
>faggot
>>
Firefox on my desktop and notebook because it does what I need
Chrome canary on my windows tablet since it's the only windows browser which automatically pops up the software keyboard
Opera mini on my phone because normal browsers are too slow on my shitty phone
>>
>>51424022
It kind of feel like chrome, to be honest.
>>
Netscape navigator
>>
>>51421980
Highly customized 12.17 forever.
I'm pretty sure every single website I log on to knows it's me.
>>
>>51424939
Is vivaldi strictly a pc browser or can it be used on a phone?
>>
>>51425134
That's how I feel, especially with the custom user agent I browse with
Opera/9.80 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0 Opera/12.16
>>
>>51425187
I think it is limited to PC
>>
>>51425194
Damn. I'm tired of Chromes botnets so that leaves me with only FF.
>>
>>51421980
Iridium. There's a particular Chrome extension that's become so deeply embedded in my usage habits that I basically can't live without it at this point; I haven't found a way to replicate its functionality on other browsers and I want a little less botnet at least.

I might use Vivaldi but the extension in question doesn't fully work on it.
>>
>>51421980
Chrome, cause I don't want a plug-in container that takes 400mb of RAM

Firefox/pcxFirefox because it's a stable, mainstream browser with customization.

Iridium as a backup.

Otter Browser for speed.

QtWeb for sheer lightness.

Seamonkey for the classic UI and dependability.

Epiphany/Web because it supports touchscreen.

Edge for lightweightness speed and support. Use it for job, thought some sites don't work well so I switch to FF and try to read it before it crashes.
>>
>>51425809
Someone actually knows of this browser? It's often mistaken for QtBrowser which is a whole 'nother beast.
>>
>>51425884
I don't, it was just the qt thing.
>>
what is g's bot net browser currently start page is the search engine
>>
>>51426003
I have no idea what you meant but I believe some firefox forks come with startpage as the default search
Vivaldi is a pretty nice botnet powered browser
>>
Internet Explorer 11, as Im 7 user and found it to be fastest and most comfortable browser. I have old pre-chrome like Opera for browsing 4chan, but mainly use IE for rest.

I dont use extensions too.
>>
>>51421980
Chromium. I used to use Iceweasel up until a few days ago when I finally got tired of it freezing on me. I have no idea what causes it and reinstalling the browser didn't help. This is on x64 Debian Jessie btw.
>>
>>51423346
That doesn't make any sense. SeaMonkey isn't user-friendly at all, has an ancient UI, requires extensive setup out of the box to get it working how you want and is used by hardly anybody. It'd be fucking BSD if you were comparing it to an operating system.
>>
>>51425728
>*32
There is a 64-bit version you know.
>>
chrome on windows
lightning on android
but i need a better fork for FF now that it's circling the drain
>>
what happened to SRWare Iron tho?
>>
Safari. 4chanX and Oneechan are working finally so I can ditch Firefox for good.
>>
Waterfox for normal browser Chrome for porn.

I hate both of them and want to find something better desu
>>
After reading this thread I downloaded and set seamonkey, I'll test it a few days and then delete FF permanently. looks good.

thanks /g/

>>
Google Ultron
>>
Chome for basic browsing and Firefox for stuff like banking.

Chrome, for me, is more lightweight and snappy even with 20 tabs and numerous extensions.

Firefox because I find easier to just keep 2 separate browsers for more personal stuff.
>>
Browser of choice:

http://strawpoll.me/6051557
>>
Firefox because it's the perfect balance between performance and functionality for my habits.
>>
Firefox 17
>>
>>51421980

FF because it's the least worst for what I need.

I tried Pale Meme, but I get tons of visual artifacting and weirdness in the UI and can't be bothered to figure out the reason.
>>
>>51426838
thats obviously because it failed and isnt being developed anymore
>>
Chromium, cause its fast and works on all of muh devices.
