Why is it that linux preforms so bad compares to windows when it comes to gaming? If not for the fact, that I would lose so many frames, then I had switched right away.

most contributions to the Linux ecosystem come from big businesses and governments that want to use it as a single-tasked server OS.
no wonder it sucks at everything else...
I'm not saying it's not true, but posting a benchmark for one game which most people would agree is optimized to shit is not the best representation, give us a spread.

What surprise me is that most websites says steam OS is shit based on those benchmarks and doesn't even try it and see if it's true or not.

>pretending average FPS means anything
What's the minimum FPS?
Because idiots use shit resource-stealing desktops like Unity and Gnome. Performance is nearly on par with Windows without that garbage.
Wayland is going to make that much worse with forced compositing.
>they don't include the graphics card used in testing
Everyone who actually games on Linux knows that the current AMD drivers, both open and closed, are complete and utter fucking garbage. If the testing was done on an Nvidia card, they'd have a very valid complaint.

The test is done with a Zotac Geforce GTX660 (2GB)

So what would be a better desktop option in your opinion?
