/g/ approved android apps?

Let me start:

>Greenify - for better battery life
>AOSP keyboard - no botnet keyboard
>BlackPlayer/Poweramp - good and efficient players with tons of settings for you to play with
>AdAway - the name says it
>Xposed - for muh rice
>Clover - for shitposting on the go

and
>Omni ROM - the only rom /g/ should be using - no bullshit, no analytics

>CF.lumen for that nonblinding screen at night
>lightning browser for that botnet-free browsing experience
>SoftKeyZ for my ricing
>AfterShip for tracking all the bullshit I buy
>DiskUsage for managing my disk usage
>>
>F-Droid for muh free apps
>Dashchan if you dislike Clover
>FreeOTP for them 2fa codes
>Amaze file explorer

>Total Commander file manager
>SoundHound song ID
>MS RD client
>MXplayer

About all I use most days.
>>
>Caf chromium for a chrome like browser that is 1.5-2x as fast
>Poweramp for obvious reasons
>viper4android for much better music
>>
Best thing I've done to my phone, battery, performance and botnet wise, is not installing gapps.

Furthermore,
F-Droid, Aptoide for apps
NewPipe for YouTube,
Afwall+ as firewall,
Kernel Adiutor for kernel tweaking,
OsmAnd instead of maps

Maybe botnet apps:
Fleksy keyboard,
Phonograph music player,
Nova launcher,
Wally for wallpapers

naked browser is botnet?

Someone update this
>>
>>51402827
Worth getting GravityBox if i already have CM11?
>>
>tfw still on 2.3
>only botnet apps still support old Android versions

Life is hard.
>>
What's alternative to quickpic? I need a fast fullscreen pictures and webms browser, gallery's zooming sucks.
>>
>>51403450
Old Quickpic with edited signature so it doesn't update.
>>
Og YouTube. Just like the official YouTube but with bg playback and downloading.
>>
>>51403510
>>51403450

Wait what's wrong with current quickpic? and what version was the last "good" one?
>>
>>51403236
No. GB is not working well with Cyanogenmod
>>
>>51403594
4.5.2 or something

it got bought out by Cheetah Mobile - the same company that brought Cleaner Master - and if you''ve ever used it you'll know how shit it is.

It's a botnet that delivers advertising data to the chinese now.
>>
>>51403616

>just checked phone
>still have 3.7.1

nice. Thanks for the info. Am I missing anything by not upgrading to the latest non-botnet version?
>>
>>51403592
fuck. where have you been all my fucking life. this is amazing.

only thing i would love to be added is to stop videos from playing after some time (you can set the time)
>>
>>51403649
Cloud features and material redesign.

You don't need to update.

You can still browse your pics, that's what matters.
>>
>>51403682

Cool, thanks a lot man!
>>
>>51402176
what about amplify for stopping wakelocks.
>>
>>51403986
Built in in any worthy ROM. It's either called exactly that or is in the privacy guard.
>>
>>51404004
it's not in privacy guard in CM12.1.
>>
>>51404017
Cm is shit, m8. Baby's first ROM.
>>
>>51404043
not if you want stock android on a phone which isn't a nexus, and it's the most stable 3rd party rom and it's outlasted PA, and AOKP, also the one M8 dev support is drying up as HTC hasn't released any new updates for a while.
>>
>>51404075
>stock Android
>cm
If you delete cyanogen apps yeah, kinda. Just like every aosp ROM(except you won't get those apps in the first place).
>>
>>51404102
i delete most of them from the openGapps aroma, and other than converting my phone to GPE, CM is the closest to AOSP, which is better than using a sense ROM which is from january and still on 5.0.2 while at least i can get 5.1.1 until HTC released marshmallow or CM updates to CM13.
>>
>>51404128
I wouldn't bother with Marshmallow, not yet. r/o /system partition is an absolute killer for me.

>mfw I have to use CM
>>
Can I compile my own rom without having the manufacturers source code, given that I have android's source and know what hardware my phone has?
>>
Where can I download 4.4.4 for note 3 n9005 stock ROM?
>>
>>51404383
Wait, you want stock kitkat?
>>
Regarding the apps everyone is suggesting, do you first have to root your phone?
>>
>>51404408
Yes please
>>
>>51404345
90% networking won't work.
>>
>>51404432
wait, Stock TOUCHWIZ ROM or STOCK android?

what are you running right now?
>>
>>51403592
Hve they fixed the log in function yet?
>>
>>51404463
>>51404463
Tesla ROM, stock android 4.4.4 I was retarded and didn't back it up.
>>
>>51404488
Two ways now. With exposed or with modded Google services(doesn't replace yours)
>>
>>51404501
Oh neat ill try it later. Before when the log in was broken it was rather useless to me.

Firetube is a workaround that doesnt require root, i guess.
>>
>>51404495
You can grab the firmware from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9005/ (although I don't see much KitKat builds, almost everything is lollipop), and flash it with Odin.

It's different for every phone, so look up the instructions on XDA.
>>
>>51404436
How so?
>>
>>51404537
Blobs.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/u1q1o53agja3blt/QuickPic.Signed.apk?dl=0
Latest quickpic before it became botnet. The signature is changed so now when you go to update all apps, it won't update quickpic to the botnet version.

>greenify
Battery apps are placebo and have no actual effect on your phone
>>
>>51404542
And these cannot be extracted from the phone itself? All I have available is update.app. Does it have any use?
>>
>>51405506
Greenify isn't. It's for disabling apps like fb even if you want to use them sometimes. Battery difference probably isn't that big, but it's a good app.
>>
>>51405506
This one works. I don't see any services active from the apps I've greenified.

But I agree with you that most battery apps are shit.
>>
>>51402795
No, Naked Browser does not, has never, and will never spy or monitor in any way. --Naked Browser dev
>>
>>51402795
Lighting and Naked are two sides of the same coin - they're both browser based on WebView, so they're really tiny and with relative small RAM usage.

Lighting is more beautiful one, but uses more resources.

Naked is ugly for some people, but it's the fastest browser - beating even the stock AOSP browser in speed.

Lucky patcher, for muh free purchases.
Minuum keyboard(just don't use that gimmick one line mode. Autocorrecton is insane here, missing letters, extra letters, all wrong letters, it doesn't give two shits)

Where do i get lucky and lucky with no botnet?
