Is there a linux distro commonly used by computer engineers?

This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

cos its rock solid. its not cutting edge, it doesnt have all the latest whiz bang stuff, it just does what it does.

If you are having to ask, then you will never really succeed.

It matters not which distro. It only matters that you understand what is happening.

windows Tbh
not even memeing. I studied ECE and it was like 70% windows, 25% mac, 5% linux. Most ECE software is available on windows, while linux availability is about as guaranteed as mac availability (as in probably not available, unless you're a pure software guy, in which case, why are you in the ECE department?).

Linux however was the default OS in the CS department. They used Ubunutu 12.04.

This desu.
Why do you think Chrome OS is based on Gentoo?

Because it has the most customizability and best performance of all decently popular Linux distros.
>>
>>51401350
There all basically the same thing. Any differences can be read on their homepage within 5 min.
JUST PICK ONE.
>>
>>51401715

Use #! friend (more recently known as Bunsenlabs). Fast, clean, stable. What more could you want?
