Yep, they are much slower than modern ones, so your CPU will not use them for anything besides swap. So your browser will run a little faster, games will not benefit at all.
Still, pretty easy to install them, if you have slots. Just push really hard, dangerous to leave them half-in, could cause a spark.

Yeah OP keep in mind if the empty slots on your board haven't been used they'll be super tight. You might need to put a lot of weight on the RAM to install it properly.

I just stuck a couple of those and an old Radeon 9600se into a Pentium 3 running XP. It plays Portal and Half Life 2 better than I expected and sort of manages some light modern web browsing. Apart from that, you're not doing much with those. Even a Pentium 4 is going to want DDR2.
