I thought about changing the PSU out for a while now. But I have a place to tuck the cables, so its not nearly impactful as it would've been in my sff build. Maybe if I come into more money I'll go modular and sleeve at one time.

No idea why you would want it to pull and blow air into the roof of your case when there's a fan it can blow it into and right out. Really no benefit at all to having yours like that and the other anon's is detrimental to his cooling with it that close to his GPU.

Not even sure if the 28w power saving is worth the possible future complications that might come with hammering the cpu with min/max voltage constantly. It's probably safe since it's a built in feature but then again I'm running way beyond spec with a high voltage.

Anybody else here enabled the power saving features?

Binned likely meaning he bought it from a place that tested it as a good overclocker / low voltage.
Delidded meaning the lid on the actual CPU was removed to apply good thermal paste
Lapped meaning he sanded the heatsink until the copper was visible, which allows for better heat transmission.

This is all for better temps and overclocks.

Don't need utility. I am using it for the small form factor. Eventually it'll have a clock and misc digital read out on the front with a blue ray player and go into my entertainment center with two 6tb WD reds for media center goodness.

The slim form factor and shiny case are the only thing it really needs. I could potentially turn it into a "gaming" console by eventually adding a low profile GTX 950, and a wifi/blue tooth internal card.

Guest Computer, Server, Media Center. That's the goal.

Binned wasn't the right word to use there, as it was the first chip i picked up, but I got pretty lucky. Did 4.6 on a mere 1.152Vcore. I pumped it up to 5Ghz on 1.3something, but I'd rather it last, and ivy's diminishing returns on voltage input applied very quickly after that.

Yeah I drained/cleaned last week, put in new tubing (old stuff had traces from the dye of the rad's previous owner), and simplified the loop, but didn't bother to get my cable game back up to snuff. Thoughts on how I should get those hideous PCIe cables tucked away?
The molex up top right is running to the mobo, and the 24-pin cable will be covered up with something less garish when I put in proper lighting. Would you recommend moving out of the r4 if I'm not utilizing its full space?

>>50761381
Let me put it like this, the first time I removed it, it was a very tedious job. I was trying to be very careful because it seems so fragile. It's far from it. Put some pressure on those screws to remove them and be careful when you remove the water block frame that's sitting above the actual Fiji core. It'll pop out the moment you remove a screw. Scared the fuck out of me when I did, I though I destroyed the thing kek.

It's not so much hard as EKWB will send you a instruction sheet about how to remove the shroud. Just make sure you have little plastic satty bags or somewhere to keep the screws because they're fkn tiny. I used a jewelers screwdriver kit.

There's a lot of screws and some you mightn't see so if you're trying to remove something and you just won't budge then there's likely a screw, somewhere, that is still in. Best to remove that top back plate first, it'll make it easier. By the looks of your one, it's the first iteration and there shouldn't be a warranty sticker covering the screws on the water block frame plate so if it fucks up then they've got no evidence to suggest you removed the cooler. Ez RMA.

I posted my main machine's guts a thread or two ago, so here's the guts of what I laughably call my home server. It makes backups and seeds my torrents.

>"Anon, why would you need a full ATX board in this day and age? Get a mini-ITX system, they're tiny and kawaii!"
I got memed hard. It is tiny and kawaii alright, and I kinda like the airflow (I reversed the fan in the PSU, it blows down onto the CPU and motherboard) But everything else sucks. It's a pain to work on. You'll note the high-tech drive-mounting system (sticky tack), which I used because apparently the CM Elite 130 vibrates like fuck when the drives are mounted in the provided bracket, and makes an obnoxious buzzing noise. If I want to add more drives I'm shit outta luck, only four SATA ports. I could fit another drive in the 5.25, but that'd make the vibration come back. Every time I have occasion to open the case I wish I'd gotten a regular ATX mid-tower, which would still have fit under my desk just fine, and not been so difficult.

guts posters aren't really ones to listen to if you want maintenance-able builds. most people here would have to cut 30 zip-ties to remove a single cable from their build. not to mention, your psu isn't modular, so you're almost forced to resign your build as a rats nest since there's nowhere to hide away the cables.
>>

yes it's 4+4/2+2, I bought the 2's originally, then got the 4's cause they were on sale one day and I never bother to balance it out, also I think the 2's are clocked higher than the 4's but I just keep them at 1600mhz

yea the MOBO and PSU are the only other hangovers from when it was a budget build and look like wank, it doesn't even have a usb3.0 connector so I had to tape over the slots on the front of the case.

I'll probably go back and sort those few stray cables at some point, the PSU is a bit limited for sata power connectors so by the time I found a way to have everything connected in a reasonable way I couldn't be fucked going back and making sure the last few cables were going to be in the most perfectly pleasing position

I'll try and find an elegant solution to the sag but we'll see

Agreed, Cryorig has lots of old brains working behind it and I'm excited for their next line of coolers

seeing as it's only £35 for the H5 i may sell my shadow rock and get it as it looks cleaner and easier to install so repasting will be easier

There are some quirks with the insall, just don't force anything. I worked on it for about 20 minutes before I found that I needed to flip over the arms that hung over the socket.

Look at Silverstone Sugo or Lian Li ITX cases before you ditch it. Also, as the other dude said, a modular PSU is important for these builds.
