What chair does /g/ use?
>>
>>47688354
I worked with a guy that used one of those, keyword "worked", he didn't last too long
>>
>>47688354
Bayside Metro Mesh Office Chair. One of the best $99.99 I've spent on a chair.
Replaced a $350 high-back Ergonomic task chair from a local office supply boutique store. I was hesitant when I saw this one but decided to take the chance. I've had it for 2 years now and it's been great. I'm 190 lbs. It's comfortable and doesn't heat up especially in the summer.
It doesn't conceal farts though.

Exercise balls can fuck off.
I tried to use one because the entire internet said they're good for your back.
My back would start hurting after 10 minutes.
>>
>>47689025
>This is one good chair
hear the voice of GEICO radio advertisement dude
>>
>>47688354
this reminds me of a nice porn video with some girl called reid or shit like that
>>
>inb4 someone says "standing desk"
>>
>>47688354
Uh, let's see. There's the seat-y bit, where you bum goes, and uh, there's a back bit, that you can but your back on, and a couple of arm rests for, um, resting your arms. Then there's like 4 or 5 wheels and a lever that makes the seat-y bit go up and down.

Oh and it's black.

Does that help?
>>
>>47689121
That means it's working.

Same reason why your body hurts after you do a workout if you have never done it before, you slowly get used to it
>>
>>47688903
>I'm 190 lbs

Sure you are. Keep telling that to yourself.
>>
>>47688903
I'm planning to get this chair and luckily girls don't fart so I have no problems with that
>>
>>47688354
that can't be comfy

Riley Reid?
>>
>>47689268
yeah i think it's that one
>>
>>47689253
It is, provided the ball's inflated well and once you get used to it.

Some Swedish shit from IKEA. 60 bucks and it's solid as a rock.

there are no good office chairs, they're all garbage. do yourself a favor and attach a set of wheels to a recliner, or just swivel in and out of your desk.

why are they garbage? it's simple. they don't allow you to move around and sit in various positions to the degree that a large recliner will. you can recline, but not completely. you can shift to the left or right, but you can't really shift onto your side. the arm rests are narrow and hard (yes, even the "soft-touch" plastic on your steelcase leap is hard) and hurt your elbows/forearms after awhile, whereas on a recliner you've got a good amount of padding to deal with.

most of all, the seat will support you better regardless of your weight. structured seating like the herman miller chairs or padding like the steelcase chairs have isn't sufficient for long-term seating no matter how much bullshit they try to sell you. you need a real support system with padding and springs to cushion you regardless of the position you're in.

i've had so many chairs, spent so much money buying the cheapest office depot garbage all the way up to leaps and freedoms, and they're all just fucking shit compared to a cheap recliner you can find at any furniture store. fuck your ergo bullshit.
>>
>>47689220
Damn you're good!
Actually (I was 194 lbs) now 186. heading back to 178.
On top of that I shave and shower regularly. (Not your typical anon fag)
>>
>>47688354
I'm a bitch because I can't sit on that ball with a straight back for longer than half an hour.

Also, sitting on chairs all day gives me dick/prostate problems.

Life sucks.

I used to use an exercise ball and I just ended up slouching even more.
>>
>>47691635
That's fine. Research does not support the use of exercise balls in office environments, anyway. Idiotic fad that needs to go away.

Best solution is Linus Torvalds solution

>>
>>47689881
It doesn't work. Too much pressure on the back of the head, saliva running down the throat, etc.

Treadmill desk master race.

I have one and it's pretty good. I can walk or jog for 6 hours without even realizing it. When I need to wait for something I can run faster or use weights to get a little more fit. You can buy a premade treadmill desk or make one yourself by strapping a plank to the handle bars like I did. Your body won't feel like shit like after sitting in the same spot for hours.

>>47691667
Torvalds gets it.

Reminder that this is the only way to maintain good posture without putting stress on your joints while using the computer for long periods of time.
>>
>>47692723
It's good to put stress on your skeleton to prevent bone loss and stuff. You'll go blind if you spend all day horizontal.
>>
Is there a list of recommended chairs? My budget is around 200.

I sit on the exact same ball as in OP. Have had awful back issues for years, had surgery 18 months ago. Ball is a wonderful thing.
>>
>>47693391
Shit son, I'm using a desktop, only thing on my lap is the keyboard.
>>
>>47692791
Look at IKEA's chairs
>>
>>47693375
There's nothing wrong with sitting like that if you have a strong core.
>>
>>47688354

I really love this chair.
I can sit for hours without getting back pain. It has lots of adjustment options. I can recommend.
But its fucking expensive (around $1000)

>>
>>47688937
Is that sysadmin? Why is he so famous around here.
>>
>>47693930
I have the leather version and can confirm that.
But the head rest is not the best, it doesn't have front-back adjustment, which is sometimes needed.

>>
>>47694036
I thought about acquiring the leather edition, but I thought it would look to invasive in my office environment. How is the air flow on the back? Do you get a sweaty back?
>>
>>47694209
Holy shit how strong does that shoot?
>>
>>47694178
That image and many like it were results of manufacturers cutting corners, and thus costing lives.

Steps were taken to introduce laws stating that gas-piston chairs had to have a metal plate thick enough to stop the piston should it fail.
>>
>>
>>47694248
The hydraulic piston on an adjustable height office chair failed and severely injured the user.

You fucking retard.
>>
>>47694261
Back pain.
>>47694253
So people actually died from it?
>>
>>47694280
I believe there was 1 death yes. there are certainly enough blood vessels in that region of the body that could be damaged and cause death.
>>
>>47694269
So that's how it feels like to be your mom.
>>
>>47694304
Right, because my mom is an office chair. Wtf kind of insult is that?
>>

>>47694304
Because I stuck my piston up your mom and it failed.

Welp, did that backfire.

>>

So you have ed?
>>
>>47694066

Thats how you know the CIA really does not like you.
>>
>>47694248
I britain the legal limit is 12ft/lbs muzzle velocity. This is enough to kill someone should you hit them in the head.
So shooting someone in the ass with the same power is bound to do some damage.

That's not to say you can't get a more powerful spring/gas cannister and valve fitted to achieve more power though.
>>
>>47692433
hell yeah they are

my boyfriend's face

just got the ikea one, the meshy tall one and its pretty good if you take off the armrests. its also like 150 so its cool

In the Netherlands it's €150 ($165) for both the leather and fabric versions. On the 'Murican website it shows up as 200 for the leather one and 170 for the fabric version.
>>
Did I do good, /g/?
>>
>>47694225
Air flow is not perfect, but good for a leather chair. I got the leather version because it's easier to clean and I'm allergic to dust.
>>
got this yesterday, its gr8
