How do private trackers keep track of who downloads and seeds what? Also, can I just copy torrent hashes/magnet links to my torrent client instead of downloading a torrent file?

The way I pirate is I browse for torrents on a VM and then copy the torrent hash into my torrent client on my host. I'm not sure if that would cause any conflicts with a private tracker since I'm not familiar with how the whole user logging thing works.

Private trackers assign a unique passkey to each user that gets embedded in the .torrent that they download from their site.
With the passkey, they can follow the users' downloads and uploads

Without a valid passkey they will not send you list of the seeder & leechers. therefore there is no way for you to download without having a valid account with them first.
You can however, grab a list of seeders with a valid account and then download the torrent, but never report your statistics to the tracker. That's called cheating and you will be caught fairly quickly and easily

Here's an idea. go to whatinterviewprep.com and do the interview and join
Then request any album that you find there and want in IPT and download it from there
You won't have to keep ratio on what.cd this way
As a bonus you can cross seed it back in what.cd for some upload

To the piece of shit who gave that email to staff with a link to the archive as proof, which he even showed me when I asked for my account back, I fucking hate you. I was literally weeks from getting into BTN and I was uploading music every single fucking day when I found out about the Elite+ thing.
