What are you talking about, retard, I preview GIFs just fine.

>cookie notices
I'm sure the point of the law was to force websites to stop placing unnecessary cookies, especially tracking cookies instead of bugging visitors with those annoying messages. But we're talking about the same people that plastered their websites in pop-up ads back in the day. They don't give a damn.

I do, but no one reports as fast or with the same quality that NYT has. NYT isn't perfect, and it has a pretty decently liberal bias, but everything is biased. At that point you just need to be aware of the slant and go for the one that does the most accurate reporting.

I don't know where to ask and I don't want to start a new thread.

I was messing with startup programs so I can disable junk I don't want all the time but'll need eventually and I came across two Asus programs that are listed as from an Unknown manufacturer. There are two OTHER Asus programs listed as coming from the ASUSTeK Computer Inc., but for some reason these are from Unknown, pic related.

Is this a virus? I've tried Google but I can't find anything about it. I've run some security scans and Malwarebytes but they haven't picked up anything.

I'm sure its just something tracking you so I wouldn't worry about it,.
>>

I'd rather pay for my news and not have to worry if they got paid off to write some article then to read some stupid ad-supported news bullshit where every other article is a sponsored report with no proper labeling.

Honestly, are you all getting your news from RT or something?

Oh we should be so honored that you would even come to us for help. You're such a great person for even including us in your list of potential solutions to your problem.

I don't really want to reinstall. There's nothing important on here but with that in mind there's nothing really worth backing up, but it'd still be a hassle to reinstall all my preferences.

I'd rather just purge whatever this shit is, but I can't find it.

>>47601261
Oh and I forgot the biggest problem I'm having. Startup items won't display through Task Manager, it's just straight up blank. I can't seem to access it at all and nobody else seems to have this issue. I figure I'll just have to get some third party program to get into my startup programs now. No noticeable slowdown on my computer or anything but this is fishy, to say the least.
>>
>>47601184
It's pretty clear that ads don't work. Anyone who knows their shit just gets an adblocker, thus the only people being targeted for ads are the people who don't know shit
thus there's a strong influence to degrade the quality of the work to support that bottom tier of people
and thus you have nearly every free news source moving more and more into buzzfeed style news
ie garbage

paywalls make a lot more sense, and there is a much greater tendency towards quality, or at least an attempt at it, though they're still generally too pricy.
otherwise it's entirely free websites, that lack ads in the first place, that one can go to for an attempt at quality

but rarely, if ever, does an ad supported website move towards quality content production.
