During the evenings I use Skype, Viber, Whatsapp and Snapchat. If I'm out of batteries for more than an hour people will start coming around to my apartment to make sure I'm alive. I have a hard time imagining someone going days without a phone.

I am an Usonian University student, who has never possessed a cellphone. I have a little used landline, but email is my primary mode of communication. That said, I can go days without using the internet directly.

I keep in touch with some freinds via email, some by physical mail, and mostly by face to face communication.

Thus, to the OP, I cannot use my nonexistant cellphone, that would be absurd. If I had one, it would not meet my expectations in terms of power, capacity, and probably modificational potential, even when compared to laptops of similar prices (especially when phone subscriptions are considered).
