What music player do you use?
I dont like foobar because it is just boring and I am not an autist needing to configure shit for hours before it is usable
foobar
clementine
>billy
it's the ultimate non-autistic player for people that doesn't care about eyecandy/rice and only wants an player that plays common audio formats in the background without any shills.
Use to use foobar switched to AIMP3 then I started dual booting gnu/Linux and windows only for games so I use dead beef now . just wish it would integrate with cinnamons notification panel
Aimp is king. I fucking love it. Super easy.
>>46986454
Use foobar and customize it as you go. The in built layouts are pretty good. >>46986471
>>46987228
Yeah, why need color and everything with their music player the default foobar setups are fine.
musicbee
>>46987248
Dunno if troll, but the first time you run foobar you get the option to choose layout and color scheme. The settings it has are pretty nice man.
>>46986454
foobar2000
you fucking autist
MusicBee
itunes
AIMP is better than foobar.
No idea what to use on Linux, I haven't found one I've liked yet. cmus, deadbeef and pragha are alright though.
It's going to seem like I'm shilling at this point, but still using Winyl. It's a somewhat obscure Windows audio player. There's no plugin support, but it plays the most common formats out of the box, like FLAC and MP3.
I used foobar2000 for several years. It's a great player, but I never had any need for the plugin support or configurability. Winyl is a little more lightweight than foobar and has a cleaner interface, so I switched to it.
Before foobar, I used XMPlay. Definitely still one of my favorite players overall. It just doesn't have a very good interface, especially the awkward library window. IIRC, XMPlay has Winamp plugin support.
>>46987337
>Winyl
does it scrobble?
here's my deviantart-tier foobar setup
xmplay
>>46986454
MusicBee is foobar for lazy people who want something powerful that just werks. The single dev is active in his forums, responds to user requests frequently. Unfortunately because of this I fear that the program is on track to become a bloated mess.
>>46987337
I used Winyl a few years ago before I found MusicBee. It was good, but a bit too basic for me then.
Is there any good Linux player that has a filebrowser tree and doesn't use "fuck my shit up" tagging organization. I tried looking around a while back and only mildly liked deadbeef but was disappointed in its plugin. Currently I'm just using mpv to play my shit.
>>46987498
Pragha.
>>46987337
Can you window-snap with Winyl yet? I liked Winyl but that was the one thing I couldn't handle not having.
>>46987519
Thanks will try it out, anon.
>>46987498
potamus. it allows you to use your folders as a library structure and playing albums by right-clicking
>>46986454
If you don't like Foobar, then you'll like Winyl
Musicbee is bloated as fuck
>>46987337
Winyl is such a nice little player, I like it but I lacks some features I can't leave without.
>>46988286
wtf
* I like it but it lacks some features I can't live without.
>>46987362
It has built-in support to scrobble to last.fm. I don't think it supports any other servers though. That would probably require some kind of plugin functionality, which Winyl doesn't have.
MusicBee
i still use winamp
it does what i need it to

>>46986454
At first, just MusicBee, then a bit both of MusicBee and Foobar, but now I'm getting really used to just using Foobar.
I thought it was kinda gay for me to customize foobar before I could get it to actually work myself, but soon I fell in love with the customization and how light it was.
>>46993692
Thank you, friend
On windows I use iTunes, i dont even give a fuck the mini player is cool
on linux mpd + ncmpcpp is the best though, i wish there was something similar for windows, i dont like foobar
>>46986454
>boring
it's a damned music player not a circus retard
Why doesn't Winyl support .cue files
What should I do to get my old cds when I was a kid onto my laptop?
And I need a simple player that won't fuck up the order of my music tracks. I hate that. I'm anal about the small shit.
>>46986454

AIMP, both on pc and android. Simple, lightweight and function rich. Best choice.

What's /g/'s take on plex?
i still use winamp because I love the visualizer. "Milkdrop" is a fucking spectacular thing of beauty, especially in native HD resolution at 60fps
>>46994372
It really whips the llamas ass lol
I thought they stopped updating it though.
Should I take a look at it again? It's been a decade since I last used it.
>>46986454

Windows Media Player, it's all you deserve.
>>46994409
Ouch lol
As a pleb just looking into better players how simple is foobar?
I don't need anything fancy just reliable and easy to navigate and won't fuck up tracks or their order when I transfer from gay itunes
And what do you guys use to sync playlists and listen to music on your phones? Thanks in advance
>>46994409
>please use what I use
>please don't use anything else
>please ;_;
Foofags gentlemen.
>>46994390
it's a very solid music player with an awesome GUI, and it has the greatest visualizer _ever_. I seriously recommend installing it if only to play around with that magnificent visualizer. I tried the Electric Sheep visualizer after already seeing Milkdrop, and I was disappointed by it
IMO dedicated audio player software from 2015 is really not all that much better than software from ten years earlier, even... kinda like how audiophile-grade speakers from 1995 dont sound much better than audiophile-grade speakers from 1975. All that music oriented stuff just kinda reaches a ceiling after a certain point, where the audio quality all just sounds equally good.
Boom. It's like an even lighter, simpler version of Foobar, made by the same guy. I use it on my shitty laptop to save ram.
Amarok is the one I am currently using.
>>46994679
what is the best version of winamp? right place to download it?

Audacious because it has a nice winamp-classic-style interface and never needed more than a minute of customization.

I like mpd on Linux but on Windows I just use Foobar.
How can I make it start playing an album by double clicking? I always have to expand the list, right click the first song and select Play.

>>46986454
Windows Media Player just because the keys in my retarded laptop control only that.
I'm sure there's a way to control other software too but I don't care.

Foobar for general use, WinAmp when I need music in the background of something (like a livestream) just cos I already have it setup perfectly for that.

Functional, lots of plugins which add customization, ricing

Clean, less customization, no plugin support but more than good enough

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.
